Re: Atheist has vivid dream of Heaven
You all need to read 2 Corinthians 12:2 to 4.

Any time anyone tells me they went to heaven, or even
paradise I feel sorry for them.

It is forbidden for anyone to tell what is there.

Proof is in scripture.

If someone wants you to "buy their book" or CD, get
away from them.

Furthermore, there are NO children in paradise or heaven.
When a child dies, they are full grown in paradise.

Our souls are very old. So when a soul leaves a human flesh
body, the spirit and soul goes back to God who gave it or created it.
We are all so very old in our souls.
Those who are well educated in scriptures know Gods plan as to why we are here in the flesh body.
Paul makes that clear as to that we have two bodies.
One flesh body, and one soul body that is in these flesh bodies.

I would say more, but I don't want to wreck OPs posting.

blessings to all

Babies grow up into adults in Heaven.
They are there from all of the millions and millions of abortions done on Earth.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67506367

Nowhere in scripture does it mention that babies, in Heaven, grow up into adults...

A baby has not experienced adulthood on Earth. We take our thoughts with us when we die. So a baby would not grow up or be an adult in Heaven.
 Quoting: DuckNCover

The Book of Life gets an entry when conception takes place, mankind is modeled after God and the Holy Spirit in looks and relationship in that Adam and Eve were created as a married couple.
This covers all people (and all other flesh as well) from Adam to the 7,000 that die in the Re:11 earthquake just as the 2nd woe ends.

Ge:2:7:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
Ec:3:20:
All go unto one place;
all are of the dust,
and all turn to dust again.
Ec:12:7:
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was:
and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Ec:9:10:
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do,
do it with thy might;
for there is no work,
nor device,
nor knowledge,
nor wisdom,
in the grave,
whither thou goest.
Job:14:12-15:
So man lieth down,
and riseth not:
till the heavens be no more,
they shall not awake,
nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave,
that thou wouldest keep me secret,
until thy wrath be past,
that thou wouldest appoint me a set time,
and remember me!
If a man die,
shall he live again?
all the days of my appointed time will I wait,
till my change come.
Thou shalt call,
and I will answer thee:
thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Job is referencing the Great White Throne resurrection as the 1,000 year era is not mentioned in the Bible until the last few pages. That event is held in the '3rd heaven' which is outside of what is mentioned in Ge:1:1. Those also have a 'heaven'. Eden is the 1st heaven and it reaches as high as birds can fly. 'Flesh' is the dominate life form, it can also die. God allows 120 years for flesh to learn all there is about that heaven. Re:12 defines the heaven that is for immortals, aka 'angels' and that is the rest of the universe. They leave that home and enter the 3rd heaven at the time of the GWT event and they stay there. Mankind lives as flesh for the 1st 120 years of their life and then God makes them immortals which means they no longer have to eat to remain alive. Time also changes from 24 hours in a single day to 1,000 years (our time) is equal to a single day. One day would be 360,000 years and 120 years would be ??? Time in the 3rd heaven is not given but progression suggests 1 day there might be 10,000 of our years with no end.
All flesh is destined to enter that place, the 4 beasts around the throne in Re:4 are the oldest beings in the Bible. Two of them are the parents of God and the other two are the parents of the Holy Spirit, tow being that are perfected and they have a perfected child named 'Christ', the 4 beings are his 'grandparents'. They were also the 'seed' for all other flesh that was created on Eden before the 6th day started, an honor we follow my naming children after their grandparents.

2Co:12:2:
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,
(whether in the body,
I cannot tell;
or whether out of the body,
I cannot tell:
God knoweth;)
such an one caught up to the third heaven.
Heb:12:22-25:
But ye are come unto mount Sion,
and unto the city of the living God,
the heavenly Jerusalem,
and to an innumerable company of angels,
To the general assembly and church of the firstborn,
which are written in heaven,
and to God the Judge of all,
and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant,
and to the blood of sprinkling,
that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh.
For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth,
much more shall not we escape,
if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
Heb:12:2-8:
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself,
lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Ye have not yet resisted unto blood,
striving against sin.
And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children,
My son,
despise not thou the chastening of the Lord,
nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth,
and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening,
God dealeth with you as with sons;
for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
But if ye be without chastisement,
whereof all are partakers,
then are ye bastards,
and not sons.

The GWT event has 3 groups in it. Job would be in the group that 'death' gives up, after a dreamless sleep. The giants from the OT that had most of it's members die in the flood, they are the ones the Seas give up even though the last 6 gingered person died in the exodus wars. That is related to Ge:6 and how angels broke the Re:22 set of laws that govern them. I will do a thread about that.
The last group are the ones that are in the grave yet remain awake like Jonah was, that is known as 'great tribulation' so they are the group in the verses below. They appear to be about as saved as a person needs to be to be offered that drink of water.

Re:7:9-17:
After this I beheld,
and,
lo,
a great multitude,
which no man could number,
of all nations,
and kindreds,
and people,
and tongues,
stood before the throne,
and before the Lamb,
clothed with white robes,
and palms in their hands;
And cried with a loud voice,
saying,
Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb.
And all the angels stood round about the throne,
and about the elders and the four beasts,
and fell before the throne on their faces,
and worshipped God,
Saying,
Amen:
Blessing,
and glory,
and wisdom,
and thanksgiving,
and honour,
and power,
and might,
be unto our God for ever and ever.
Amen.
And one of the elders answered,
saying unto me,
are these which are arrayed in white robes?
and whence came they?
And I said unto him,
Sir,
thou knowest.
And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation,
and have washed their robes,
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore are they before the throne of God,
and serve him day and night in his temple:
and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
They shall hunger no more,
neither thirst any more;
neither shall the sun light on them,
nor any heat.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them,
and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters:
and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Re:21:1-8:
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth:
for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city,
new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying,
Behold,
the tabernacle of God is with men,
and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people,
and God himself shall be with them,
and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow,
nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain:
for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold,
I make all things new.
And he said unto me,
Write:
for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me,
It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega,
the beginning and the end.
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things;
and I will be his God,
and he shall be my son.
But the fearful,
and unbelieving,
and the abominable,
and murderers,
and whoremongers,
and sorcerers,
and idolaters,
and all liars,
shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:
which is the second death.

Re: Atheist has vivid dream of Heaven
I find this debate about babies funny. In the spiritual realm, you can take any shape you like. A spirit full of purity and innocence will probably appear as a child since it is its natural form. A more heroic spirit might appear as an angel knight.

If you read the Bible with a closed mind and a closed hearth, the connection with the divine realm cannot be attained. Open the gates of the mind and the hearth, then read Scripture. This is the secret of the Ark... the Ark is inside of you, in the Temple. You will feel that the Message inside the form (the letters) is alive. If you make the connection (between the two kerubim), you will be receiving a Healing Spirit. Let Love and forgiveness come inside your tent. Receive the Messenger and listen to Wisdom. The Bible is more than just a book.

Debating about wheter there are adults or children in Heaven is unimportant and serves only to create divisions and pride, suspicion inside the faithful in Christ. If my faith is in Christ, I have total confidence that He will lead me to the abundance of eternal life. In what form ? I don't know. But if I look at the Beauty emanatiing from Him, I suspect that I should be ok.
He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord ask of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly before your God?

If your open minded, try checking out other scriptures.

Nag Hammadi Library - Gnostics
Thomas Gospel specifically

Apocrypha
Book of Wisdom Specifically.

You can find some real gems in the Book of Wisdom.
If your into parables and hidden wisdom the Gospel of Thomas is filled with mysteries ready to be unlocked.

They complement the Bible, and IMO should be included in the Gospel.

They paint a broader depiction of the Great War in Heaven and on Earth. They came from true christian seers, capable of penatrating the Vision and see the Holy Realm. They do not contradict the Message of Truth given by Christ, they give context to the Message. The apocryphs were from the christians praying in the catacombs searching for enlightment. They are the Church of James, brother of Jesus. They were praying in the dark. Through their Mind, they were searching the Gate of the Hearth, the inner Light that would lead them to Salvation. The Apocryphs are their legacy. It is a gift.

In the end, what is important is to stay focused on the Message of the Gospel and put it in practice to the best of our abilities.
He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord ask of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly before your God?

(3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

If the Kingdom of God is in Heaven, then the Angels will precede you....If the kingdom of God is in scriptures, then the scholars will precede you. Rather the kingdom of God, is who you are and how other's see you. When you discover who you truly are as a person, other people will know who you really are. You will recognize that your life has a higher calling. But if you do not know who you really are, you have a veil, and it is you who is that veil.

Tradition and Worship
…8‘These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me. 9They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’” 10Jesus called the crowd to Him and said, “Listen and understand.…

35John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you were willing for a season to bask in his light. 36But I have testimony more substantial than that of John. For the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish—the very works I am doing—testify about Me that the Father has sent Me. 37And the Father who sent Me has Himself testified about Me. You have never heard His voice nor seen His form, 38nor does His word abide in you, because you do not believe the One He sent.

39You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me, 40yet you refuse to come to Me to have life
.

Two can play at that game. John preached repentance. Jesus preached Love. Two very different things.

Jesus Testifies about John
…10This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’ 11Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.…

What is violent? Fear and punishment and torture....

Stop following John and preaching repentance, John himself says he is not that light.....

6There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

What did jesus preach?

Matthew 22:36-40 King James Version (KJV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

We repent because we love Jesus, not out of fear.
People preach repent because Jesus will torture you.

THERES A DIFFERENCE! Its a whole different attittude/lifestyle/mindset.

I had a dream a few months back. very vivid, but I believe it may have been Yashua Christ, standing on a hill radiating the brightest of light imaginable, while holding a flaming sword. The world was on fire around him, but nothing inside of his circular perimeter was touched.

Sorry for crappy ramblings, but I have never experienced anything like it. I will add, I was agnostic at the time.

But have since fully converted to Christianity. reading the bible every day.

How are you going to play the "scripture game" when you don't KNOW scripture?

I'm not a expert but I can ASSure you that Jesus DID teach REPENTENANCE. You can ALSO find that it was mentioned by Father God Himself several times during the Old Testament.

Jesus' very first teaching was to "repent".

Matthew 4:17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:15 And saying*, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe* the gospel.

The message of Jesus' ministry was so important that the Father had John the Baptist "rattle their cages" ahead of time to "pave the way" for Jesus' ministry.

The key teaching by John the Baptist?

Matthew 3:2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Jesus ALSO said....

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The words "repent" & "repentance" were used 49 times in the New Testament....by EVERY single writer.

[link to www.blueletterbible.org (secure)]

[link to www.blueletterbible.org (secure)]

The word "repented" is used 15 times in the NT

[link to www.blueletterbible.org (secure)]

John the Baptist's main teaching? Repent.
Jesus very FIRST teaching? Repent.
Peter's answer to the folks outside the upper room on the day of Pentecost? Repent and be baptised.

Finally, Jesus admonished folks who failed to repent.

Matthew 11 & Luke 10....

Re: Atheist has vivid dream of Heaven
REPENTANCE SHOULD NOT BE DONE OUT OF FEAR!!!!!

If you repent out of fear of punishment, that's not true repentance. That doesn't make you a vessel of true mercy and forgiveness.

You are only being that way out of OBEDIENCE.

You need to REPENT because you WANT TO. Not because you HAVE to.

Why can't people understand this.

11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. 12The hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock. 13The man runs away because he is a hired servant and is unconcerned for the sheep.

Mark 4:35-41 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Calms the Storm
35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

The storms came and they were AFRAID! How did Jesus respond, he said they had no faith.
When you have Faith, you lose the fear aspect of it. You are fearless.

Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it didn't fall, for it was founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of mine, and doesn't do them will be like a foolish man, who built his house on the sand. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat on that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.
Matthew 7:24–27

Build your beliefs of repentance on repenting out of SINCERITY and WILLINGNESS, instead out of FEAR and OBEDIENCE.

From the time i was a baby and a child I was in and out Churches until i graduated high school.
A few years after high school, i realized that after everything i was taught and learned that I had nothing tangible. Nothing real. Did I believe, yes I did. Did I believe in hell at the time, it was neither here nor there.

I remember sitting at my job as a Flagger, and giving religion and jesus a good long hard thought. I realized that throughout my life, everything I was taught was useless to me, and did nothing for me. So i took matters into my own hands, and dropped everything I knew and began seeking a higher power in earnest.

I read many scriptures, researched many religions, approached it from a atheist perspective looking for wisdom and knowledge. I looked at astronomy and saw how everything had to be just perfect (according to evolutionary theory) for the Earth to come into being and support life.

I looked at how our genetics/cell/body are so complicated and relies interdependently on each other to function. One part can't work without the other.

I considered the extinction of Dinosaurs according to evolutionary theory and realized that Humans wouldn't evolve without that asteroid.

I considered Mathematics, and how it governs the Universe. With laws and theories.

As I thought and pondered these things, I deduced that it must have had a designer. Everything worked together to form our existence as we know it. It couldn't have happened by mere chance and dumb luck.

Once I had that figured out, I began to think about human nature. And why we are the way we are as a society. Everybody pursues what they desire. Whether it be money, power, love of partner, family, personal achievements etc.

I considered why cultures wage war and conquer other people. Sometimes it was out of survival and trying to take resources that were scare to survive. Other times it was out of greed, a desire to rule over people.

I realized everything isn't black and white, good vs evil. Things are blurry and grey. That no man could possible judge and determine what was right from wrong. Some things are blatantly evil and some things are good.

I returned to scriptures reading anything and everything I could find. I started to draw inspiration from King Solomon, who desired wisdom above all else. I started to desire wisdom, and I studied Solomon's teachings. To find out what Solomon truly ment.

My eyes began to open. I saw the world for how it truly is, how society truly is. How the elite hoard power and money, how the middle class live their live's somewhat carefree, and how the poor struggle to survive.
I noticed how when you go to Church, the majority of them are elderly or young children.

When you brought up the topic of religion, you always get the same responses.

Either they shy away from it, get angry about it, or they become your best friend. People don't debate anymore, they don't SEEK. They either have a belief and hold firm to it, or they give it an afterthought, and have half-hearted beliefs they don't truly keep in their heart.

When a church group comes knocking at my door, and i start to talk to them about beliefs and religion, they tend to shy away from a true conversation and always have outlets/blanket statements. They don't go deep with it. They spout their doctrine, like something they memorized.
Or they fight back aggressively, like they are damned if they are wrong or there is no room to build upon there beliefs. They don't see room for other religions/texts outside of the bible. They won't build upon their beliefs, or tear it down and start over sincerely.

At this point, i realized that if a person truly wanted to get to know God, it has to be something intimate and personal. You don't know how you can reach out to the other person and change their heart...that's the Holy Spirit's job. Our job is to fellowship with people, jewish and Gentiles, Believers and Non-Believers alike. To exchange ideas and beliefs, and let the Holy Spirit do its work.

I took a good long hard look at myself, figured out who I really was. How my experiences in my past and my decisions formed me for who i was. My outer personality, my inner personality, my desires, my weaknesses, my strengths.
I looked at what I could've done better, and what I was proud of.

I judged myself. I looked at how I wronged other people and acknowledged it to myself, sometimes apologizing to the individual. I made a sincere effort. The more sincere I became, and the greater the effort i made, the more my mind began to open. The more I noticed. I began to perceive things I didn't before. I wasn't blind anymore. I began noticing something I couldn't describe or put my finger on communicating with me subtly. Guiding me, nudging me along.

there were times were I was confused, times where i was proud, times where i was angry, times where i was hopeless, lonely, sorrowful, joyful. You name the emotion, I've experienced it in my journey.

Things fell apart in my life, and I've had to rebuild and start over numerous times. Each time, the Holy Spirit was there, providing me with just enough strength and hope to keep going to keep enduring. I realized that if I didn't go through these things, then other things would have never happened, and I wouldn't be where I am today.

I did all of this, out of curiosity and a craving for something real, something tangible, something beyond Blind Faith. I put in the effort, i was sincere, i endured, i struggled, I questioned everything, i humbled myself and admitted "I don't know", Help me. God saw that, and he responded.

Not sure why you cite the NIV. Very terrible translation.

Also not sure why you discourage godly fear.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of all wisdom and knowledge

Let them be afraid. Better than the alternative.

Do I Fear God? It's not the type of Fear that you imagine. When people say fear god, they think of punishment and torture.

When somebody asks me If I'm a believer and I fear God, i give a sly smile. I fear God as though a child fears his father. I know my father isn't going to kill me or torture me, he might punish me, but he won't abandon me.

I know what God is capable of, making me lose everything in life. My possessions, my friends, my family, my health etc. so in that aspect yes I fear god.

Do I fear eternal punishment of hell and torture for the common person who does not believe in God....No I do not.

Are you going to tell me that anybody who has lived and not heard the Gospel will be tortured by God in Hell? Even if they were a good person and lived a well-meaning life.

Everybody when preaching about God, wants to draw people to the Hell/Fear/Punishment aspect of it. Instead of testifying about their journey and how God is a friend to them and how they fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

This makes me tend to believe that their faith is lukewarm. They believe, but they do not KNOW. They believe the Story, they worship the book and the teachings.

God is not Dead, so lets stop treating him as such.

When you introduce friend to your other friends, do you start rambling on that they will kill you and torture you, saying how angry they get, etc. or do you say how great a guy they are.

You say something like, "ya hes chill, he's cool, he's with me."

So the moral of this story is: religion or non-religion means absolutely nothing.

What matters, is what you do in your time here on earth.

Re: Atheist has vivid dream of Heaven

Why don't Athiests keep the same energy, pride and arrogance while they are being physically and mentally tormented endlessly in hell?

If it's not eternal hell fire, or repetative torment of the soul, it's mental torture involving a unimaginable level of depression.

Where's the tough guy attitude then? Not so tough now. Not so wise now. Only a humble fool now.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72437770

What world do you live in? Are we on the same planet?

95% of atheists don't even care whether God exists or not. They literally do not care, that's it, no grudges, no hate they just do NOT CARE. 95% have no problem with what you believe in.

They do not spend hours every day thinking about atheism and/or christ like religious people do. They just take life as it comes.

If anything you need to deal with your own twisted thoughts and projections.
