I find this debate about babies funny. In the spiritual realm, you can take any shape you like. A spirit full of purity and innocence will probably appear as a child since it is its natural form. A more heroic spirit might appear as an angel knight.
If you read the Bible with a closed mind and a closed hearth, the connection with the divine realm cannot be attained. Open the gates of the mind and the hearth, then read Scripture. This is the secret of the Ark... the Ark is inside of you, in the Temple. You will feel that the Message inside the form (the letters) is alive. If you make the connection (between the two kerubim), you will be receiving a Healing Spirit. Let Love and forgiveness come inside your tent. Receive the Messenger and listen to Wisdom. The Bible is more than just a book.
Debating about wheter there are adults or children in Heaven is unimportant and serves only to create divisions and pride, suspicion inside the faithful in Christ. If my faith is in Christ, I have total confidence that He will lead me to the abundance of eternal life. In what form ? I don't know. But if I look at the Beauty emanatiing from Him, I suspect that I should be ok.

The apocryphs were from the christians praying in the catacombs searching for enlightment. They are the Church of James, brother of Jesus. They were praying in the dark. Through their Mind, they were searching the Gate of the Hearth, the inner Light that would lead them to Salvation. The Apocryphs are their legacy. It is a gift. In the end, what is important is to stay focused on the Message of the Gospel and put it in practice to the best of our abilities.
