Hello and happy holidays. The last year has had its ups and downs. My granddaughter suffered from a broken arm and is now in a walking cast. She is only 2 and is being tested at children's hospital in February to find out why her bones are so weak. What I'd ask for is a bit of kindness from others they look at my daughter as if she is abusive to my granddaughter with out even knowing the situation. Strangers on the street I've seen it myself and it sucks. A bit of kindness will go along way..

for your message and that poor little girl. I hope she will be okay. If you want me to send her a little present through Amazon or something, just email me at [email protected] and I will see what we can do.

And you yourself know the truth. I said it before, if people would care as much as they judge others, we would really be in the best spot ever. Keep believing in yourself, always! hf

Someone with the initials A.C. (real name) sent me a request with this message:

"Could really use some help getting food for the family this week! Merry Christmas!"

Can you please email me with your PayPal emailadress? I can not pay straight from the intermezzo email address, since that is not my PayPal address. Otherwise I can not help.

Thanks! hf

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
Good evening and Merry Christmas everyone.

I have a story myself. I understand if nothing is left or my family cannot get any help. I don't have pay pal but my email is [email protected] even be willing to give my address or I have an app called cashapp though my phone. It's free and doesn't take any fee money from a donator or from someone who is donated to. My ID is $ghosthuntermari which will make sense if anyone can help through that.

This year has been a nightmare. In January I ripped a huge hernia at a job site and my former employer refuses to pay workers comp. The state I live in cannot force them to pay nor grant me workers comp through the state because this particular big box company has their own private workers comp insurance.

Even though I still had/have an unhealed hernia. I attempted to work other jobs. I could not keep them. This past week I was told to leave my latest job of only 3 days and go to my Dr. I have just been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This past year we have lost our home to a sheriff's sale, with what money we have from My fiances social security we have to make the decisions as to what bills to pay, and what to ignore and endure bill collectors.

I have always worked and now struggle daily to provide my family with small necessities that we all take advantage of. I cannot even buy my small family of the 3 of us and our 15 year old cat any Christmas gifts. I'd be happy with even a gift card for the dollar store.

I know the meaning of Christmas isn't about gifts but I feel so useless and depressed because of the pain due to my RA and my hernia. I just want to be able to do something for my family. They don't deserve this.

Thank you for reading this and have a Merry Christmas.

GLP Rocks!

Maria hf
 Quoting: Ghosthuntermaria

I am sorry for all that happened to you and your family Maria. It must be such a hard time dealing with that.

I will email you and then we can discuss how we can help making Christmas a little better for you and your family. hugs

InterMezzo, I just want you to know that this thread has made me quite emotional. My little family has had some heartbreaks, setbacks and frustrations (nothing that can't be overcome), and so much sustained uneasiness occasionally makes me lose faith and hope. Your kind words and spirit of giving are inspirational. Thank you.

Things are ok but to be honest we could use some help from Santa. I have 13 year old twins. Their father passed when they were 2. I'm 55 and have been on 35 interviews in the last 2 years and the only offer I've had is substitute teaching. Age discrimination s real. Between that and a small online gig we clear less than 1500 a month, have no car and rent a room in a home with 4 other roommates. I also sell fudge and goodies this time of year but so far we've only sold a few plates. I don't need anything but it would be nice to get the cubs some stocking stuffers. They're super good kids and keep their grades up despite our struggles. God bless. paypal.me/dawnandtwins

Dear InterMezzo,

You are doing a truly beautiful thing! hf

As for me, I don't need money. What I truly need and want is to be able to find God and that Jesus will reveal Himself to me.

If that happens, then what I've asked for will be priceless.

Thanks for everything that you've been doing and may God richly bless you!

I don’t have a paid membership & I am probably the least “tech savvy” 45yr old in the world. Lol! But I read threads here & love this site.
I am disabled and spend most of my time in bed. If you were to see me on “a good day” you wouldn’t know my troubles. Anyway, I’ve been feeling very defeated lately & I’m having a hard time accepting that this is how my life is supposed to be. I’ve been waiting over a year to get a referral to a top notch specialist in Boston(I’m in Illinois). Today I was/am laying in bed, feeling depressed & decided to occupy my mind for a bit on this site. I’m so glad and thankful I did. Seeing this thread has touched my heart & restored my hope. Of course, if I ever get the referral, I could use financial help to get there. But today I ask for prayers & well wishes that this renewed hope sticks around & that I am well enough to enjoy the holidays with family.
God bless all of you! Thank you for your selfless gifts to all who received them! You have made miracles happen! It’s amazing!!

I moved to Chicago a couple months ago . Got a job from a friend of almost 20years washing dishes . A week ago Sunday I called in because I may have to have my pinky toe amputated . That night my friend, the head chef, got stabbed to death by our coworker , with a knife I've washed hundreds of times ,in the kitchen . I already had some rough PTSD so I REALLY can't go back to working there .
Now I find out the place I live is getting sold and I have 30 days to move .
Thankfully I found a couch to sleep on , about an hour away, and a prospective New job but I'm VERILY Scrooged till most likely February . Not one to ask for help ( I'm stubborn ) but I Need HELP .Thank You for HOPE .

This is amazing. A guy helped me a couple of years back by sending me some bitcoin. I was in a real mess I couldn't afford my rent, I just had heart surgery and that helped me so much

Fast forward to today things are a little easier I can make my rent with the disability allowance I get but my health is no better, I lost vision in one eye due to having Marfan syndrome and the other eye is taking a hit right now so I'm worried what will happen next. It would be amazing to have a little what some would call "spare cash" to just do something for myself instead of watching the little I get go back out in bills.

Thank you op. There are good people who are willing to help which restores my faith in humanity

Hidden disabilities are the worst! People can't see them and they tend to be very judgmental, and you're young to have this situation. Hang in there, and my family will pray for your health (physical and emotional) and yes, I know why you're crying...it's so good to hear about people who care for others. We get fed a steady diet of murder, arson, brutality and we believe that it's just the way the world is now.

Then along comes a thread like this and it renews our faith that not everyone is uncaring. Much thanks to Mezzo for his part in what is becoming a GLP ritual that heals.

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
I was blessed to have been able to earn my Bachelors degree. I have been helping needy families for the past 17 years. I lost my job last month after standing up for the POTUS. I was the only male worker there so I was already a figurative and literal target. Now that I’m out of there and have decompressed, I’m so blessed to have lost that job. It was horribly toxic and abusive and not worth the “great” health benefits. Our 19 year old is in college and just came home for Christmas break. It’s been very difficult trying to get through to them just how important that “stupid piece of paper” really is. These younger generations are so much more disconnected and isolated now thanks to the stupid phones/internet (same things that are supposedly “connecting” everyone and everything). It’s hard to encourage them out of that apathetic mindset when take for example, me,
despite having 17 years direct Professional experience under my belt helping others (and missing my own child’s childhood) oh and that bachelors degree, the best work I can find that has any form of benefits that will hire me pays $14 per hour. Yes I should’ve learned a trade.
It’s pretty sad how people half my age with zero real world experience get the jobs...Now that I’m on this side of the figurative fence...wow... I hear all of this talk on the internet about how college is a joke, no longer needed, etc... yet down here in the “real world”, what I am witnessing firsthand....you’re not even considered for a decent job without having a Master’s degree... seems what matters the most nowadays is not experience but who has the most “fancy letters” behind their last name.
If you’re not at Master’s degree level and/or bilingual in Spanish, you’re screwed slinging onion rings or delivering pizzas. The message being sent to the younger generations is just stay at home and live off of welfare and have as many children as possible, with multiple fathers, and you’ll get more “free” goodies. Not sure why I’m venting or what my point is.
It’s just so very nice to see all of the kindness and positivity here on this thread. God Bless and Merry Christmas to every one of you beautiful souls.
~BP hf
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76790892

Your message is heard my friend and it is good to vent. I agree with you on the job issue. I still experience it in my job hunt. Qualified to the tee, energetic, experienced, positive, but no job yet, as much as I apply.

I don't blame the younger generation. Good for them that they can land these jobs. But the employers really should look past age and not ask for the sheep with five legs (Dutch expression?) But will that ever happen?

All we can do is keep saying that we will find that job that fits up and connects us to an employer that does appreciate our skills and experience, no matter the age. It will happen!

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones buddy. God Bless. hf
