Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
Hey. Very nice of you, you are doing something different from the rest of the world. God bless you.

Anyway, if I want to be sincere... This year was second worst of my 33 years on this planet. My life changed when my beloved father died 3 years ago, since then it was always worse and worse. I was depressed, without any will to do something better with my life. Back then I was in relationship but my girlfriend was golddigger which I didnt see back then. I had my own computer company, I was doing just fine. Some bad decision and I went bankrupt. This women left me few months ago and now I thank God for this. But why is this year my second worst? My mom got auditory neuroma - tumor in her head. It was pretty big and there was 50/50 that she will survive. Thank God again she survived but she have one of the side of her face paralized - during surgery they cut her face nerve. I was taking care financially the way I could. I was taking loans to help her. Now I am in debt, nothing big, 4k USD, nothing I can't pay in few years.
I am aplying for some jobs right now as I am low on funds, need to survive 2 next months and I'll be fine.
Anyway, life is hard, nobody tells that it's not. Struggle is something we all have to face. I remember 5 years ago when I had everything, my company, girlfriend, both healthy parents. Now days are darker. Someone told me that there is dawn ahead of me, who knows. I am counting on year 2020.

if you want to write to me or send me christmas gift here is my PayPal: [email protected]

Merry Christmas, only few days left!

I don't need anything related to monetary value.

If someone could keep me in their thoughts or say a prayer or something... It's just been the beagle and I for lots of years now.

I doubt I'll even get a Christmas text message from anyone. Never do.

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
I have a good friend who is in DIRE need. She is a lovely 26yr old single mom. She has always had to pinch pennies but has managed to get by for herself and her daughter up until a few months ago, when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The treatments have caused her to miss work bc she feels so sick.

I try to help her and when she is able to make it in to work, I do as much as I can for her on the downlow so the other coworkers don’t get mad that she’s not pulling her weight. They don’t seem to care that she has cancer and say if she can’t do the job than she should quit. People are dicks sometimes.

She’s been trying to hold it together, but yesterday broke down to tears and unburdened herself to me. She said that her situation had gotten so severe that she broke down and applied for food stamps and medical assistance for herself and her 6yr old daughter. She was DENIED! This for her was the straw that broke the camels back. She could barely speak through her tears. I am so angry. I see people on public assistance with name brand clothes and that live better than her. She doesn’t even have a couch or a kitchen table. She and her daughter eat in the bedroom that they share

She is worried, not only how they are going to get by, but also how she is going to pay for her treatments and what would happen to her daughter if she does. She feels so overwhelmed and alone.

I asked around and found her a couch and kitchen table and a little Christmas tree. My daughter has agreed to babysit for free when she can make it into work, and we are today going to try to get her some household goods: toothpaste, toilet paper, feminine products and some easy to fix meals for her daughter when she is feeling sick. Regretfully, the box will be meager bc I too am poor. I wish there was more I could do to help her. My heart is breaking for her bc she truly is one of the loveliest young ladies I have ever known and it hurts me to see her struggling like this, so despondent, scared and hopeless. Christmas presents for her daughter aren’t even in her radar bc she can’t even see that far beyond her panic.

Her situation is truly heartbreaking and I have felt so helpless bc she needs more than I can give. Then I saw this thread and I decided to reach out on her behalf.

We have had a rough year, my girlfriend has diabetis and recently lost a good majority of her vision wich left her out of work these last 3 weeks. Honestly groceries is where we are hurting the most right now, we literally eat once a day and that stresses me out cause I have 2 kids still at home. I dont care if I eat but watching your kids go hungry hurts the most. Were not bad people just hit hard times with this current state of affairs. My email is : [email protected] as is my paypal address. You guys are good people and I have always loved this site and the members that make it what it is. Merry christmas everyone!

I tried to email OP but it failed to go through. But if you haven’t reached your limit yet, my family is having a rough time this year financially. My husband and I both work, but our only car broke down, and we both work about 35 miles from our home in the nearest area with jobs, so it has put a big strain on us, when we were already just getting by as it was. We have an 11 year old daughter. And since we couldn’t afford Thanksgiving dinner this year I promised her a good Christmas dinner. But with the cost of groceries, I don’t know. So if there’s any help left, I ask to be considered. Thanks!

Op and the others Thank you. It will be just my husband and I this Christmas but next year will be better. My family lives 500-600 miles away so it’s out to visit. My mom has beginning dementia and unfortunately I am the one she has deemed stealing from her when she misplaced something. I live 500 miles away so it’s impossible but she doesn’t see that. I have never taken anything from her or dad but gave freely given what ever I have to anyone. Dad just cries because he sees it and can do nothing. Anyway. I’m thankful they are still here with us no matter what the circumstances. Life is and can be good. We are blessed to live.

Such a sad story. I am sorry that she has to go through all of this and I do hope there is some kind of relief for her soon. And I agree, this world can be so cruel at times.

I said it in a reply to another friend; if people would care as much as they judge others, this world would be such a better place. Yet, we can only be who we are and believe in ourselves and those that do put their faith in us.

I have so much admiration for what you do for her and her daughter. I emailed you just a few ago. Might have gone to your spam folder as well, but I will see what I can do when you replied to that mail.

Never give up! And bless you for being you! hf

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
‘Tis the Season again. The past years we had a Christmas Giveaway Thread, were we made Christmas a bit better for those who needed some cheering up. For me it started in 2017 with a Amazon Gift Card giveaway thread by St3v3 and followed by others like Javierruiz, Zalinsky, Cosmicgypsy, Truthserum. Beautiful people with beautiful hearts.

Last year I decided to make this a tradition, with much appreciated help of again Javierruiz and Kamchatka. So let’s follow up on it again this year.

I have saved up some funds throughout the year to give to those who can use it most and we have a beautiful soul who contributed as well. This person wants to stay anonymous and I will of course respect that. Nevertheless, that gesture is extremely appreciated. You are simply awesome!!!

Our society is getting tougher, colder, more individual, divisive, confusing. We all have our own examples to share. I experienced it myself. Lost my job of 39 years through bankruptcy in May this year. But no worries, I am fine. I know that there are so much people who struggle to put food on the table, not only at Christmas, but day after day. Let alone them being able to buy their kids and loved ones the tiniest gift for their birthday or with holidays like these.

I will always believe in people and in good outdoing the bad, no matter what. To those who struggle, I want to say and I know it is a repeat, but not meant less from the heart:

"Do not give up! In our weakest moments we find strength and belief, in ourselves and those around us. Don't be afraid to reach out. Trust me, I've been there myself and it is only through strength, belief and reaching out that I am now able to pay if forward. If I can do it, you can do it too. You are beautiful, you are strong, you are no quitter."

And to those that want to give, but are not able to do that financially:

“Know that the power of giving is not financial driven. It is driven by the heart. Lending someone an ear, show encouragement through words or giving a heartfelt hug or a tap on the shoulder, already can work miracles and be the trigger to give people that boost of confidence they need. If we can do that within the circle of our own influence, we already made this world a bit warmer. And give hope that it will spread like an ink spot.”

There might be voices that say that this gesture will be abused, that people should crawl out of the hole that they dug themselves, that everyone makes their own bed. To you I want to say that your words have no place or meaning here. This is a thread about giving and caring, not about doubt or blame.

Okay Mezzo, enough with the talking already! Sorry, the curse of writing… tomato

We would like to spread the funds to as many people as possible. I believe we can help around 20 families with the available funds. Through PayPal preferably. But I also have an Amazon Prime membership, so if you for example create a wish list there with some presents for your kids or loved ones, that would work too. Please try to keep it at a maximum of €50 per wish list per family.

Anyway, how it works:

Feel free to post here, send me a pm or email me at [email protected] with your PayPal or Amazon wish list and I will see what I can do in the coming few days. I can't be around 24/7, but I will make sure you will get it in time.

Also feel free to post a Christmas song or a heartfelt thought, even if you don’t need anything. I know music and words also have a soothing or cheering effect on all of us.

And finally, if a MOD could please pin this thread, that would be great. Thanks!

Merry Christmas everyone. Let’s make this happen! hf

Hi. So this is worth basically dodging myself over in my opinion. I have three young children, I’m a partially disabled vet(50%) and I’m only six classes away from my bachelors degree at 32 after almost dying of MRSA four years ago. My wife works full time and overtime to support myself and the children while I finish my degree. We receive no assistance from family or friends as none of us come from money. I say all this because we only got the kids a couple small things each and I haven’t told anyone yet but to afford enough gas and food this week I ended up having to return three of my children’s gifts valued at $50. I’d really appreciate a kind soul helping me with that $50 so I can replace them. Have two toddlers(my girl turns five today!) a 4 yr old boy, and 19 month old girl.

Well I'm too broke to eat right now due to my asshole neighbor abandoning a pregnant cat which I have spent all my money on taking care of her and the babies. Not that I would take it back, I love the little things and obviously they wouldn't have been taken care of well with my neighbor.

Anyway, I don't like to ask for anything but since there is an offer I could use a little money for food and things over the next few days!

And if not I wish you all a merry xmas and happy new year! As screwed up as this site is it always amazes me how kind people can also be around here :).

You are a good person for doing what you do with those kittens. People can be ruthless too. But then I always believe that you get what you give. I wish no one ill, but can only hope that one day also your neighbor sees the light.

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
I have 2 girls, 9 and 11 who I have had custody of first 8 almost 8 years. I dont have anything to give them besides a piece of paper and some drawing pencils, which we do have. They just went their first funeral the other day, seem to be doing ok.

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
Well I'm too broke to eat right now due to my asshole neighbor abandoning a pregnant cat which I have spent all my money on taking care of her and the babies. Not that I would take it back, I love the little things and obviously they wouldn't have been taken care of well with my neighbor.

Anyway, I don't like to ask for anything but since there is an offer I could use a little money for food and things over the next few days!

And if not I wish you all a merry xmas and happy new year! As screwed up as this site is it always amazes me how kind people can also be around here :).

Oh wow I just logged in to claim my post and when I did saw you sent a gift.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you are doing, not for just me but for this whole community.

I realize everyone is saying it but THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's hard to express over text in a web forum but it's things like this that spread goodness throughout the world. Also I think it's so cool that people from all over the world are helping each other even though we have never really met or spoke.

Thank you again and I will pass along the gift next time I can!

Hey Adam, man, you had some rough times. I know.. when it rains it pours and there are days, weeks, months or even years, where this Murphy guy lives in our home and refuses to leave and pours bad stuff after bad stuff on our plates.

I am sorry also for your mom going through this. At least I am glad she is still there with you. That at least is a blessing, that maybe also be a sign that next year will be better again.

Keep your spirits up my friend. And check your PayPal. I sent you a little gift. Hope it helps. Merry Christmas! hf

Re: Christmas Giveaway Thread for those in need 2019 (final update OP page 14)
First and foremost, thank you for doing this for others this year.
Regardless of whether I am picked for anything, it's nice seeing the spirit of love this Christmas.
Back in September 2019, my mother started having blacking out spells.
She had already had a massive heart attack and her health wasn't the best as she also has RA.
I immediately resigned from my position and started staying with her throughout the day until my father got home from work.
This has created financial hardship for my family as we now have to survive on one income.
I know there are people out there much worse off than me.
I am thankful for still having my mom around and knowing that at least my husband still brings in an income.
But this year, it will be the first year that we cannot afford Christmas.
So if there is room to add my family to your giveaway list, just know that we would be very grateful and would pay it forward when our finances improve.
So if you would like to help my Pay Pal is [email protected].
