Debate was already moved from UCLA to LMU for same reason Workers at Loyola Marymount University are in a contract dispute, and all seven candidates who qualified for the debate said Friday that they would not cross a picket line to attend. All of the Democratic presidential candidates who have qualified for next week’s primary debate are threatening to boycott it in response to a labor dispute between a food service company and workers at Loyola Marymount University, which is hosting the event. Members of Unite Here Local 11, a union representing food service employees at Loyola Marymount, in Los Angeles, are in negotiations with the university’s food service provider, Sodexo. The union said in a statement on Friday that it had been unable to reach an agreement. Debate was already moved from UCLA to LMU for same reason Unbelievable..... This is the second debate site. The original site was UCLA and was moved for the same reason. This is the second location site set to host the December debate. In October, the DNC announced it would not be holding a debate at the University of California, Los Angeles, because of “concerns raised by the local organized labor community” and was moving the event to Loyola Marymount.
