Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55611245 Do they get hot? I remember the old plasma TVs getting hot. did you watch?? the plasma reaches the same temp as the sun 6000 degrees 6000 kelvin not degrees it’s the color of the light not temperature |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75079032 United States 12/17/2019 06:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | shit don't show me this I just bought all new LED for christmas. Quoting: Jake where the hell were you last week? Incandescent are the only bulbs worth using. Led is garbage. well if this bulb reaches 6000 degrees probably not a good idea to put it on a tree. Right, but LED is toxic mercury filled garbage emitting a toxic light spectrum. Perfect for harming you. Incandescent is harmless. flourescent bulbs contain mercury - not led bulbs |

Quoting: Jake where the hell were you last week? Incandescent are the only bulbs worth using. Led is garbage. Bullshit. I am on my 6th christmas with my LED icicle lights. Not 1 bulb bad. Not one half string out. Not one second spent trying to figure out which one of the 3000 bleeping bulbs is bad. More than worth the few extra bucks I paid for them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55611245 Do they get hot? I remember the old plasma TVs getting hot. I saw someone make Grow-Lights out of the new Plasma car head-lamps. They get pretty fucking hot, and they produce an impressive amount of light. [link to www.plasmaglow.com] . |

They are almost 10 times more efficient than traditional incandescent light bulbs, twice as efficient as current high-end LEDs, and they also beat CFLs, most of which are around 50-80 lumens/watt. Only the prototype 300 lumens/watt nanocrystal-coated LEDs can hold a candle to them... Quoting: Nobody You Know [link to www.treehugger.com (secure)] Dude, that video is from Mar 20, 2008. |

Perfect for harming you. Incandescent is harmless. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4781216 no yore thinking of cfl or fluoro lights. leds don't have mercury in them. as for a "toxic light spectrum" it seems very unlikely that leds can emit "poisonous light rays". LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. A diode is a two-terminal electronic component that conducts current primarily in one direction. Because of this the light emitted from an LED blub is a flashing light . It flashes so quickly that a human cant notice it but it still has a negative effect on the human eye. LEDs are bad for human eyes in the long term, Incandescents are not. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4781216 Incandescents are the way to go: Since they're emitting more of a full-spectrum of light (verses a very narrow range with LEDs or fluorescent) The incandescent's saturation of the light illumination is always superior. :doom360: |

LED lamps may flicker. The effect can be seen on a slow motion video of such a lamp. The extent of flicker is based on the quality of the DC power supply built into the lamp structure, usually located in the lamp base. Longer exposures to flickering light contribute to headaches and eye strain. |
