Bullshit. I am on my 6th christmas with my LED icicle lights. Not 1 bulb bad. Not one half string out. Not one second spent trying to figure out which one of the 3000 bleeping bulbs is bad.

More than worth the few extra bucks I paid for them.

I saw someone make Grow-Lights out of the new Plasma car head-lamps.

They get pretty fucking hot, and they produce an impressive amount of light.

At 140 lumens/watt, these pill-sized plasma light bulbs by Luxim are a pretty awesome contender for "light of the future". They are almost 10 times more efficient than traditional incandescent light bulbs, twice as efficient as current high-end LEDs, and they also beat CFLs, most of which are around 50-80 lumens/watt. Only the prototype 300 lumens/watt nanocrystal-coated LEDs can hold a candle to them...

no yore thinking of cfl or fluoro lights. leds don't have mercury in them. as for a "toxic light spectrum" it seems very unlikely that leds can emit "poisonous light rays".

Plasma bulbs been around for decades and decades.... They're called Fluorescent lights guys.....

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. A diode is a two-terminal electronic component that conducts current primarily in one direction. Because of this the light emitted from an LED blub is a flashing light . It flashes so quickly that a human cant notice it but it still has a negative effect on the human eye.

LEDs are bad for human eyes in the long term, Incandescents are not.

leds are powered by direct current, so there's no reason for them to flash. nobody connects up leds to grid alternating current power. incandescent bulbs are connected to alternating current, so they do flash. if yore "flashing light" theory is correct, incandescents are flashy and leds are not.
