Not sure why certain people feel a need to use "lefty or "lefties" as a noun for liberals/leftists/leftwingers.

"Lefty" makes cunning, inhumane liberalism/leftism sound somehow innocuous or less harmful and dangerous. It makes people into that idiocy and ruthlessness sound like cute, furry little animals playing with a ball of yarn on the living room floor.

People of the left are anything but cute and harmless.
