"Lefty" makes cunning, inhumane liberalism/leftism sound somehow innocuous or less harmful and dangerous. It makes people into that idiocy and ruthlessness sound like cute, furry little animals playing with a ball of yarn on the living room floor.
People of the left are anything but cute and harmless.

Well, liberal is a misnomer, as leftists have nothing to do with liberty. lefty is a bit condescending, which is why I like it, it's reminiscent of a an endearing name for a bumbling crook, or jailbird.
The leaders of the left are indeed very dangerous, sinistra, as the Italian language so succinctly puts it, but the dupes really are just ignorant kittens chasing a beam of light or some yarn.
I'm fine with lefty, lefties, leftists, commies, fascists, authoritarians or any similar terms for the purveyors and followers of collective authoritarianism.
What needs to be changed is the use of the term
liberal for those types. It has been intentionally interjected into modern nomenclature and is in the modern sense an oxymoron.
