I don't think most people realize that the French Revolution was led by a bunch of lawyers. Desmoulins, Danton, Robespierre... all lawyers. They rolled out the National Razor and, of course, they fell under it too.

They renamed Notre Dame the "Temple of Reason", amid many other such rebrandings of French cultural and religious icons, under Robespierre's "Cult of the Supreme Being".

I'm not surprised to hear the heirs of the revolution are still active there today.

Sadly, they're active here too. For instance, Nancy Pelosi called the Capitol Dome the "Temple of Democracy" during her speech opening the debate on impeachment last week. That's French Revolutionary language. And Lord knows our Congress is full of lawyers intent on subverting the law to revolutionary ends, very similar to revolutionary France.

Except this time revolution is being fomented in the whole of the West.
