It has endured, at least in the western world, as a vehicle for commerce and capitalism to bankrupt the masses with false constructs of obligatory gift giving and guilt trips.

There is zero, in it's current expression, which has anything to do with the intended message of the Christ, Isho, if we are at least getting the name in Aramaic correct. Most historical fact postulates his birth was in the spring, so the birthday jive is a bunch of malarkey.

I used to love Christmas, then I grew up. I'm trying to like it again...do things that make me kinda happy, but it isn't helping. I have to prepare a big meal, hand out christmas gifts to my kids and their girlfriends (they are millennials) where we don't see each other through the year, but on christmas we all have to pretend to be happy. Then off they go....same time next year.

Our last christmas dinner: My husband is a conservative and doesn't like liberal beliefs. Politcal conversation took place, husband gets all up in arms and called everyone libtards. That was the dinner from hell. Hoping for better outcome this next dinner...nooo political talk at the table.
As cynical as I am, I would love to play mom again and have my kids around frequently, but we all work different hours and hard to get together now.
