nitebird User ID: 76362614 United States 12/23/2019 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Christmas Eve I usually do a good cheese and cracker platter with appetizers and fruit. I'll be making desserts and sides a day ahead. For Christmas, I'll make brunch then we'll be having salmon with roasted potatoes and green beans. I made a chocolate cake and I'll make cookies. My in laws might come but otherwise its just my husband and me and two teenagers. |

User ID: 78268636 United States 12/23/2019 11:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am making a huge pot of Seafood Gumbo and a Butterball Turkey. Quoting: NOLAangel My Gumbo will be huge this year because I have a lot of people to feed so I have to double the roux and am having to double the seafood too. I am even feeding some that are not coming but have requested a to-go bowl. The Turkey will only be an 11 pounder because I am only making it for the very few who don't like gumbo, but I have others who have volunteered to make sides to go with it. For sides and other stuff, we have Green Bean Artichoke Casserole, Potatoes Au Gratin, another side (the maker of this has not decided yet), Spinach Artichoke Dip, Taco Salad Dip, Carrot Cake, Pumpkin Pie and another dessert (maker of this has not decided yet). I wish my family liked seafood because I love me some gumbo. Rib roast, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, mashed potatoes, and some vegetables for conscience sake. Merry Christmas! Doesn't anybody feel that all these killers should be killed, and all these healers should be healed, so all of these beggars can be filled... Toes across the floor, Blind Melon |

Appetizers are cheese, crackers and fruit; Entrees are lasagna, chicken parmesan, spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread; Dessert is tiramisu. If anybody is still hungry after that, they're welcome to whatever they can dig out of my freezer/fridge/pantry as long as I don't have to cook it. 😂 Merry Christmas! Wherever you go, that's where you are. |

Whenever we've made gumbo in the past, nothing else gets eaten. So, this year, we're saving the gumbo for New Year's Eve. Appetizers: Cajun Caviar Spinach Christmas tree breadsticks Chex Mix Main meal: 2 fried turkeys Cola/mustard glazed ham Baked spaghetti Broccoli Casserole Potato salad Dirty Rice Dinner rolls Dessert: Turtle cake Almond layer cake decorated with sugar cookies all around for the grandchildren but probably for kids of all ages. :) Plus whatever else people might bring. We are expecting 30 people from ages 4 months to age 81. Last Edited by abrock on 12/24/2019 12:17 AM |

We eat Christmas Eve around my household. Green bean casserole, and stuffing. My wife makes gravy with the turkey dripping.
