Here's what stopped the GoFast Rocket dead in its tracks | |

He describes the de-spin mechanism as a cable with a weight... like a yo yo? I'd love to see how that works, a spinning mass stopped in 1 second with a cable and a weight, like a yo yo. Who pulled the string??? BWHAHAHAH.... That is a good one, ranks right up there with earth is a spinning ball (2/3rd of which is oceans) and the centrifugal force of spinning earth doesn't cause the waters to gather at the equator. And his challenge... Ridiculous, one guy jumps off the edge while the other films it... Really? That's the old grade school programing that one could fall off the edge. This guy proves nothing as his explanation is not acceptable without some type of of proof of the de-spin mechanics. To stop the spin that fast would be a real feat. All that said that video of the rocket carries no weight as its easily manipulated to appear to stop. I've always been skeptical of said video, it doesn't prove anything. Whats the matter cant put a sentence together, have to use a meme? How about you use some actual words in an attempt to debunk the content of what I said instead of insinuating I'm stupid. Bet you think a yo yo reverses its spin when it returns up the string... It must have hit you between the eyes and caused some brain damage... It's amazing how fucking stupid you are. You now realize you didn't understand basic physics and you were wrong about conservation of angular momentum, yet you don't realize you could be wrong about the shape of the Earth too. You fucking idiots are pathetic. |

How To Stop a Spinning Rocket - Yo-Yo De-spin Explained This at about 6:30 if you want to get right to the demo. I watched the videos then searched "rocket yo yo de-spin". Was quite surprised to learn that there is such a system. Here's a PDF from NASA explaining the mechanics and diagrams. [link to ntrs.nasa.gov (secure)] I'll admit I was wrong saying such a system is crazy, it does exist. Therefore I'll "take it back". Odds are this is what stopped or reduced the spin of the rocket. I'm wondering why it took so long for rocket man to come out with the explanation that it didn't hit the dome it was just de-spun. Either way the go-fast video really doesn't prove anything except there is no "dome" up to the altitude 78 miles. I would expect it to be much further out anyway. It's still flat... “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.” |
