Sole authority means they can do whatever they want, change and set rules as they please if they have a majority. Not even the supreme Court can overrule that sole authority the Constitution provides them.

There's other impeachments besides POTUS. In every case where someone tried to challenge the sole authority the Supreme Court has unanimously upheld that authority. Every sing time, with not one descenting vote.

The can acquit or remove with or without a trial.

The only constitutional requirement is over 2\3rds votes for removal.

Its up to Pelosi and Congress to present actual FACTS and Proof of their indictments on Trump to the Senate.
