1999 NEW YEAR's EVE - WHERE WERE YOU?

Me too. I was in Germany on Y2K duty. I knew nothing would happen, so I did what any red blooded American would do... I got drunk as a skunk, and was lighting off fireworks (the good kind) with my (sleepy) kids. Good fun and nothing happened. I think there were two old routers in the whole theater. What a bunch of BS overkill Y2K was.

The next morning I had to sweep up the firecracker mess in front of my house... with a killer headache. Then I went to Kosovo.

Was just commenting about it that after those events, that is what was being discussed here on GLP then, as I recall, how because of HUMAN effort, 24/7 throughout 1998-99, as awareness grew of the risks involved - how humans reversed what was almost INEVITABLE from happening. You should take a bow! Also, please expand/explain what was necessarily done to stop Y2k, plenty of us laymen are still curious about it.

I was in a very crowded hotel room on a plethora of recreational amusements.

Was a fun as hell night.

Senior year in college. I threw an XTC party. Couldn’t get in unless you bought and consumed a pill at the door. About 80 people in my house.

At midnight I hit the breaker to the house and everyone screamed. Turned it back on and everyone cheered.

A little bit later me and a buddy passed 3 smoking hot college girls around the hot tub. I bucked 5 girls that night excluding my GF.

1976-2011

I had just moved to Arizona to marry the man who is now my husband. We went to Christmas Mass and took his 94 year old mother. Then we went to a party and I smoked weed for the first time since 1982. I was in love, I had retired early, and we were looking forward to our May wedding. Those were really great times.

Wow here in Tennessee it did not get below 50 and was in the 70s during the day

In my little bug out cabin in Oklahoma/Arkansas border on the top of a ridge overlooking a lake. We had a ice storm and power went out. Had a nice fireplace and a generator, lots of food. We had just rescued two half frozen beagle puppies from the highway and took care of them until we found them new homes.

I was in New York at a party/reunion with my former producing director and a bunch of actors and techies. We were all laughing at the Y-2K hysteria.

I was 31 slightly prepped, but didn't think anything would happen. I had a cute 22 year old blonde neighbor who had bought a bunch of microwave meals as preps, I used the Y2K fear porn to have panic sex with her. good times.

The Y2K thing was a farce, only idiots got caught up in that BS, same with 2012. Guaranteed GOD is coming within our lifetime!

On a rig in the gulf. We were told to be prepared to "turn this bitch by hand" if everything shut down.

They did shut the light off on the floor at midnight, not very funny at the time.

My husband and I were about to get married. Our church was wigged out about Y2k and even though our wedding was in the afternoon, they had decided not to have any functions at the church that day or night. So, we were married in the gorgeous Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville and it was great! Still all dolled up for the holiday, so we didn't have to spend much at all on flowers for decor, and the pics are beautiful. Nothing happened at all Y2K-wise except my dad's phone was a little wonky the next day, lol.

Drank for days and screwed 4 different women 2 of em more than once.WTF we were all doomed.

He was talking about running for president since 1980 to help save the country from chine$e import$ which he said would destroy jobs in America. He was right and after the clintons destroyed America selling us to china it got even worse! 10's of THOUSANDS of American factories closed because of the clinton$ deal$ with china. EVERYTHING IN AMERICA WAS NOW MANUFACTURED IN china. MILLIONS OF AMERICANS LOST THEIR JOBS. THANK GOD TRUMP FINALLY BECAME PRESIDENT AND STARTED TO TURN THE TIDE AROUND - BRINGING MILLIONS OF JOBS BACK TO AMERICA! LET'S KEEP HIM IN TO FINISH THE JOB!!!
