This isn't entirely correct considering they don't track the cost of groceries in inflation. And I seriously doubt they really count the cost of housing either considering in 1992 I could probably buy the house I am living in now for like 50,000 where as now it is over 250k.

Yes , it varies from place to place ... depending on where You live ... I grew up in Kokomo Indiana and it used to be the cheapest place in America to live in the 80's ... You have to look for bargains nowadays ... supply and demand ... When I go grocery shopping I only buy what's on sale ... especially meat ...
