Iran in Bible Prophesy - Destruction and Restoration

Iran is not talked about much, if at all by those who study Bible Prophesy and End Times. It should be talked about and this is as good a time as any. The YouTube Video goes into detail and speculation of what may happen to Iran as a result of what is written in the Bible. Iran has been in the news causing problems since I was a kid with the hostage crisis and they have been causing problems ever since with the US, Israel, Iraq, etc. So, I am not saying anything imminent is going to happen, but one day it will.

The video is long, so here is a quick summary of the Bible Prophesy and Scripture discussed in the video. First the scripture:

Jeremiah 49: 34-39
A Message About Elam (which is now modern day Iran)

34 This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah:

35 This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“See, I will break the bow of Elam,
the mainstay of their might.
36 I will bring against Elam the four winds
from the four quarters of heaven;
I will scatter them to the four winds,
and there will not be a nation
where Elam’s exiles do not go.
37 I will shatter Elam before their foes,
before those who want to kill them;
I will bring disaster on them,
even my fierce anger,”
declares the Lord.
“I will pursue them with the sword
until I have made an end of them.
38 I will set my throne in Elam
and destroy her king and officials,”
declares the Lord.

39 “Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam
in days to come,”
declares the Lord.


Wow! A lot to digest in those short verses. First a destruction will come to Iran. It doesn't say specifically how this will happen. It most likely will be war, possibly with the US or Israel. As a result of this destruction, Iranians will be scattered to all nations of the earth and pursued with sword (modern day weapons will be used) until they are no more. All of this, even those who don't follow God can see this war happening and they will just call this prophesy coincidence.

Now the next verses get interesting and only God can make this happen, as the Lord says after this destruction of Iran, He will set His Throne in Iran destroying their King and officials and then further restoring the fortunes of Iran. In the video the speaker speculates that when God says "I will set my Throne in Iran" results in great revival taking place in Iran, the remaining people come to know Jesus. Then, the Fortunes of Iran will be restored. Wow! That would be awesome! God loves all people and wants everyone to turn back to Him.
