Another planet will appear in the solar system soon, astronomers say | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 60407566 United States 01/01/2020 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | our definition of a planet has a base to it it means, a spherical object in the heat of 2.7 kelvin in a vaccuum (the heat energy that makes space exist), composed of a structure of particles, compacted and within the orbit of a larger object or path of travel through what we currently define as "space time" so doesn't that mean anything could be a planet if it's an orb |

Is there an expected date of when this thing will enter the solar system? Will it wreak havoc when it enters? Is this planet X? So many ?????????? It just shows how little we knew before. Using current technology including nuclear-thermal engines with liquid hydrogen propellant, we could visit and mine such asteroids in the near future. The Solar System contains incredible wealth. Entrepreneurs, governments, and billionaires KNOW that this is true. The wealth of the Solar System will dwarf the riches that the European explorers found in the New World. Ad astra |

User ID: 28178764 United States 01/01/2020 03:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Geeze, People! Read the article he references. The astronomers are simply reclassifying this large asteroid as a minor planet. Thus, it "enters" the list of planets in the Solar System. It is NOT changing its orbit which it has been in for hundreds of millions of years. Its out in the Main Belt beyond the orbit of Mars. You wanna worry about doom? There are THOUSANDS of asteroids whose orbits intersect the orbit of Earth. They just have a very low probability of impact because space is BIG. IMHO (and I actually studied the threat of impacts when I was an aerospace engineer), long period comets are a greater threat. There is evidence that SOMETHING (there's your Nibiru hypothesis) disturbs comets out in the Oort Cloud. These can be very large bodies up to several hundred miles diameter. When they enter the inner Solar System, they can break up into many smaller objects which pose a great threat to Earth. According to the cycles of impacts we have seen in the past, we are DUE for such impacts about now, give or take a few million years. Feel better now? |

I've seen it twice in the early morning hours. Only due to windy conditions and the pilots who chemtrail at night leaving patches of the horizon open.
