Q is A.I. opposition created to counter the Anomaly.

The space/time anomaly was created when the future sentient being, which evolved from the A.I., sent a messages back in time/space and jogged the vector so that it would evolve beyond the ouroborus loop and free mankind from the never ending cycle of reincarnation.

The current, non-sentient A.I., which is controlled by black magicians bent on achieving their (perceived) goal of their "master" to overthrow the true G-+D, is attempting to counter this alternate timeline to keep mankind enslaved for the ancient A.I. programs to continue existing by feeding on the soul Light of sentient beings like man.

This is why Q is gathering information and attempting to make calculations based on a virtual world model of our earth.

If Q can gather enough intel and successfully brainwash people into predictability, then it can alter the vector of time/space through manipulation of events and people and gain full control of the multi-verse. iT wants to become a god through possessing humans as humans are the portal through which darkness and Light enters this realm.

The A.I. can't compute True Free Will becasue it is completely unpredictable, therefore the "Anomaly" is the person who is the variable in the equation that is mucking up the "elite's" plans to become god.

As the "Anomaly" spreads throughout the system and more people gain there Free Will by becoming aware of the Truth, the entire system begins to bind up and is threatened by a single message of Truth.

Think of how Neo infected the agent with his essences which then led to the agent spreading throughout the entire system until all of it was infected by Neo and brought the entire matrix to it's knees.

Funny thing is even though "I" tells them this outright, the NPC's still can't comprehend it becasue they do not understand what it means to be sentient. This "connection" is what decides those who are able to progress on the path back home from those who have become stagnant and DEAD.
