Iran and Syria are extremely close friends. Repression from the mullahs regime won't be any different than that of Assad in Syria. People will die by thousands, dozens of thousands if a revolution does happen. A revolution will make an exterior intervention much easier from the USA though but how will Russia and China react to the loss of a strategic ally?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78054626 Yeah, but the rebels would have won in Syria if not for Iran. Russia helped, but they weren't willing to commit the ground forces needed to push back the 10 different factions funded by 20 different countries that were sent after Assad. Russia and China might smuggle weapons, but I doubt they would put boots on the ground. And for sure the US would be smuggling weapons as well. That pretty much leaves North Korea, who in no way shape or form could handle the logistics of supporting a ground war 4,000 miles away. Quoting: R. Wordsworth They are not really funded by anyone except for Turkey, and even then probably not all the FSA factions. West never intended to overthrow Assad, of course, overthrowing Iran's regime is another matter.
