Iran and Syria are extremely close friends. Repression from the mullahs regime won't be any different than that of Assad in Syria. People will die by thousands, dozens of thousands if a revolution does happen. A revolution will make an exterior intervention much easier from the USA though but how will Russia and China react to the loss of a strategic ally?

Well it depends on how big the rebellion is, how many percents of the population support it, the weapons which are smuggled to them, how large the repression forces are... etc... Plenty of factors even not factoring boots on the grounds from other regimes. Also they could have reinforcements from Assad, and from their proxies. My guess is Assad would be too busy trying to save his own ass once Iranian forces are called back to deal with and insurrection. There will be lots of weapons... all it would take is for the government to lost control in a small area and a dozen countries will be knocking on the door with crates of small arms, vying to bet on the right horse which ends up on top at the end. But the government has a lot of resources... Iran has gotten very good at being self-sufficient producing weapons since they have been under embargo for so long. They make their own unlicensed clones of any small arm you can think of, AKs M4s RPGs etc and ammo to go along with it.
