Can witches try to curse you through your family? A woman came to visit us who stares at me with hatred but pretends to be nice

She pretends to be nice and some people at home like her. She came to sleep over with her child and everytime she looks at me she has the most horrible hatred in her eyes like she wants to fight. I did nothing to harm her but it seems she is after me in a strange way like I'm her target or something. Everytime I'm out with someone she greets me and tries to be nice with me. I don't mind but she stares at me strange and some people don't like her at all. Is she trying to curse me? Why does she try to befriend me so much and how do you tell if a person is a witch.
