My thoughts exactly.

We've already had U.S. and Russia duking it out with DEWs from orbit, with both sides taking some serious hits to their refineries and other easily-inflammable resources (with a third side occasionally helping fan the flames), so shooting down a commercial airliner from an orbital (laser) weapons platform would be a child's play these days.

We still haven't seen those orbital kinetic ("Rods from God") weapons being used, but it is very likely that both U.S. and Russia are keeping those satellites well "hidden" (as in not-yet-identified as such by the other side) in order to use them as a tactical surprise against hardened (under)ground targets (aka, Command and Control centers).

All in all, Iranians tried to save their face by lobbing a few missiles into (most likely long abandoned and empty) U.S. warehouses in Iraq, but all they they got instead was a slap in the face.

The morale of the story (from Iranian point of view), however, is something that Pentagon has most likely completely failed to understand... as usual.

What Iranians now know, beyond any doubt, is that they can't win a conventional war against U.S. (which they might have, falsely, hoped to accomplish before today).

That leaves them with literally no other option but to use their nukes in the most effective and absolutely most devastating manner possible -- against multiple U.S. cities, simultaneously, and "unexpectedly".

Of course... the third side knows all this as well... which is why I'd be expecting to see CIA's nukes blowing up in U.S. cities first, long before Iranians are ready to do the same.

After all, it takes a really, really long time (years, even in the best of circumstances) to smuggle enough nukes to completely destroy U.S. in a covert nuclear (first) strike, in order to ensure that it can never recover from it... that is, that even if it subsequently retaliates, U.S. is going to be so devastated that it will simply (and promptly) collapse... and then, be taken completely apart, and eaten alive by bigger predators -- Russia and China.

If you're CIA, however, you don't need years to accomplish that... because you already have all those nukes well-placed in all of the major U.S. population centers... including D.C.

If anybody's wondering how and why the CIA is still(!) managing to stay alive (even when literally everybody can see it, not-so-slowly anymore, completely dismantling the U.S. from within), there's your answer.

That, of course, leaves Pentagon with no other option but to use every single measure at its disposal to dispose of the CIA in the most effective and absolutely most devastating manner possible.

Isn't it interesting that when all sides play unbeatable strategies, there is literally only one way things (every single move, in succession) can possibly happen.

Unbeatable strategies are most restrictive and most predictable strategies in existence.

In almost all the cases, when they're used, by simply knowing opponent's very first move you can tell the outcome of the "game" (theory) practically immediately.

I sure hope that Pentagon isn't using that strategic A(G)I of theirs to plan for this war... because, just by knowing that A(G)I's very first move (the very first act of pressure against Iran, from years ago), I can tell you right away how it all ends...

... but you all already know how it all ends, don't you?

Iran refuses to involve US in crash probe

Iran says it will not hand the flight data recorders from the Ukraine International Airlines airliner back to plane-maker Boeing or the United States.

Speaking to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency, the head of Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority, Ali Abedzadeh said the black boxes would be analyzed in the country where the accident took place, in accordance with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) rules.

Ukrainian investigators would be a part of the process, he added.

But Abedzadeh did rule out involving the US in any stage of the investigation. "We will not give the black box to the manufacturer [Boeing] or America,” he said.
