Even once the gun was out he had another golden opportunity to act when the assailant turned to face the woman who was leaving. Don't just sit there, rip the gun out of his hand. Or better, draw your own and put him down when he's not looking. This guy was clearly a pussy though and almost certainly not a concealed carrier.
