Defcon Status as of 01/08/2020

The U.S. is currently at Defcon 2.


DEFCON 2, or "fast pace" is a "Red Alert" condition and means we are at the next step to war or a nuclear threat. During DEFCON 2 level the United States Armed Forces are ready and prepared to ship out in 6 hours or less.

The color for DEFCON 2 alert level is red. Red alert status, or fast pace has been reached only once for the SAC, or strategic air command during the cold war Cuban missile crisis in October 26, 1962 but changed to level 3 after a short time.
