| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78328842  Portugal01/09/2020 05:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re-mentioning something I noted a few days ago (as time is running out) given the moderate upgrade already noted below from SPC for parts of the Gulf for t-storms/possible tornadoes in some parts, it would be wise/prudent to let friends and family in the warned areas to consider riding out the event in a sturdier home/location if they live in a mobile home with no access to a tornado/storm shelter.........It could get real ugly tomorrow and Sat: A Moderate Risk of Severe Thunderstorms is forecast for Fri (01/10) Severe thunderstorms are expected by midday Friday into early Saturday morning from eastern Oklahoma and Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley. Damaging wind gusts, tornadoes and isolated large hail are all possible, especially across parts of eastern Texas into Louisiana Friday afternoon into the overnight hours. For additional details, see the latest Day 2 Convective Outlook. Overnight is the worst part of the event when you can't see a tornado coming and/or you are sleeping.......A NOAA alert radio or other I-Phone based warnings for you will be critical overnight. Also consider where you keep your cars and other stuff like that outside (stay away from under trees and limbs); with the rain in place, it does not take a tornado to down trees and limbs in strong frontal and t-storm gusts. |
