Joe Biden wants to gain traction with Iowa voters before the February caucuses. To do so, Uncle Joe is rolling out a series of ads attacking gun rights and the National Rifle Association. Because, apparently, Biden believes Iowans don’t value their right to keep and bear arms.
Of the $4 million he plans to drop in the Hawkeye State over the next several weeks, a portion of it will be dedicated to disseminating two digital ads on social media. One is called “Troubled Soul,” and uses clips from Biden’s speeches to reaffirm his anti-gun position; the other is called “Classroom” and features a school teacher voicing her displeasure with active shooter drills.
“This is not something an educator should have to be talking about,” Jayne Lyons, a teacher from Denison, Iowa, says in the “Classroom” ad.
“I shouldn’t have to do this. When I found out that Joe Biden was going to run for president, I was excited, because I trust Joe Biden with gun issues. He’s brought both sides together. He will fight the NRA, and he knows how to get things done,” she continues.
The notion that children are constantly under fire is also played up in “Troubled Soul.”
“Children went to school today learning how to duck and cover because they may get shot in school. Talk about a troubled soul in a country,” says the former Vice President in the clip. “Assault rifles, magazines that holding 40, 50, 60, 100 bullets there’s no room for them in America.
