Another eruption! TAAL in Philippines is erupting now.

This would be really doom level stuff if it erupts like Pinatubo, but Pinatubo erupted when a typhoon also made landfall near the region just as it peak erupted.

Anyone have a link that's live now please? I'm only finding past live streams.

The livestream I see on youtube looks like it's still not near night time, it's almost 6pm here and the sky is already near dark.

Maybe I see now nighttime approaching on the livestream, in one of the livestreams on the right side of the video you see the night approaching, that's the night coming from the East as expected, or otherwise the video position is such that nighttime is coming from the West.

He says "Lakas ng kidlat" == what a severe/strong lightning, coming from near the volcano, if you saw it in the livestream.

Pino was only M6, these happen often.
M7 is 10x of M6, 1815 last, every couple of 100 years.
Would not be too unusual to have one now.
M8 happens in 100,000s years.
We had few this 100k though.
As for liberal concerns … so you want America to become Volcano police now??!!
These things occur on planet Earth!

He says you can't see Taal anymore since it's already nighttime only the smoke or lightning can be seen and it's raining "buto" or black stones

How long before dusk did it erupt?

It looks like it just kept going and going, massive eruption.

That constant lightning looks wicked! Makes me a bit envious I ca't witness it live. The chaser inside me sure got enticed. I do hope nobody gets hurt though, that smoke/ash pillar is bound to collapse into some nasty stuff.

The alert status of Taal volcano has been raised to Alert Level 3 by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) after the volcano spewed ash in a phreatic eruption around 1 p.m.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, Phivolcs said Taal volcano “has escalated its eruptive activity, generating an eruption plume one kilometre-high accompanied by volcanic tremor and felt earthquakes in Volcano Island and barangays of Agoncillo, Batangas.”

So about 5 hours already
