Illuminati means "enlightened" but it has acquired
much more nefarious connotations over the centuries.

Dan Brown's movies (like Angels and Demons, for example,
seem to bring the name "Illuminati" up in our timeline
as if they were still operating. I'm sure some would
argue that our current "Deep State" is connected to
