God was made up by humans who feared the unknown and feared death.

God is Omniscient, Omnipotent and Omnipresent. The Omnipresence means there can't really be a place anywhere in existence God is not present.

Most people don't know that it's their soul that rises after the body dies, not the earth personality and/or ego. Those stay with the dead body.

Our souls are much more knowledgeable about what happens after death than we earthlings are. But if you knock, the door will open to more spiritual (not religious!) knowledge while you're still alive.

You go to summer camp and you miss your parents and maybe your sister. No, not your sister.

You know you are a long way from home and you are learning things you won't learn from your parents.

Every day you spend some time wishing you were home. Some of the other kids are mean to you. A couple of kids are the best friends you'll ever have while you're there.

But you're still going to canoe, you're still going to hike, you're still going to campfire, you're going to do all the things.

It's not that you want nothing to do with your parents, it's that they are not there to have anything to do with. But yeah, when camp comes to an end, you want to go home very badly and be with your parents and hell, by that time, even your gross sister.

You hope nobody notices you've changed a bit, done some stuff you're not proud of and you hope they are eager to hear about all the great things you accomplished.

But most of all you just want a good, long hug and your hair tousled. You to hear "I Love you and I've missed you" and maybe shed a warm tear together.

One has to ask: What good is the spiritual "Knowledge" if it dies with the body?

---

On a separate but related note: you think it's terrible that your personality will be gone, but honestly your higher soul will be very happy to be back to "itself" again.

In an episode of Rick and Morty, they are seen playing a virtual reality game called "Roy" where you assume the role of "Roy" and it's so immersive you believe you ARE Roy and the game feels like it lasts 80 years until you come out of it, realize you were gone five minutes, and everyone has a laugh that you had such a low score or that you went back to work at the factory.

You realize Roy's life was pretty dull, but that was the point of it...to get into it and find out that even in the mundane and banal, a soul can find engagement.

Nothing, and Spirit never die.

There are those here who doesn't even have a soul.

It quite easy to figure it out for those with senseless souls, there is no common sense in them and they cannot comprehend anything holy.

And there are those with up to seven unclean spirits dwell within them are a little smarter but still detectable by those HEB souls.

As for free will.. there is no free will for the Spirit to enter any soulless beasts of the Earth but unclean spirits, who are in need of cleansing from the Earth.

Re: If you spend your life wanting nothing to do with God, when you die, do you want to be with God?
Many a person will regret the path they chose on earth the very millisecond after death.

They will realise instantly that while they were alive and in "time" they could have changed their eternity.
Now dead and outside of "time" they are forever in a condition that separates them from God.

This separation is so horrible the scriptures compare it to fire.

So you are not of the ‘the dead know nothing, feel nothing” persuasion? It gets so confusing with all the different scenarios.

"Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones." -- Marcus Aurelius
