Oregonians know due to several deaths yearly, you don't mess with the Oregon Coast or the logs debris on the beach. You look from a great distance of oh that's nice, or enjoy it from your hotel, or have a sunset dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking the ocean. You safely stay at least a football field length from the Oregon Coast ocean if you're on the beach and you never ever turn your back to it. There were warnings of King Tides. Even on a clear day, you tend to be very hesitant & cautious on the Oregon Coast.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77184054 We don't have tides in the Great Lakes but people get washed away here, all of the time, too. A 16 year old girl was lost last week while venturing out on the pier to watch the huge waves. Gone in an instant. The power of water is nothing to mess with. Quoting: thinking... One single weekend last summer we went to the great lakes, we read about two drownings cause people got too close We took precaution and didnt go to the edge or near it.
