I can't understand the cognitive dissonance of people claiming we should respect the will of the Brits, but not the one of the Scotts.
Wait I do, it's hypocrisy
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66919736 Respecting the will of the Scots would have been keeping Scotland in the UK. As they voted for, and as happened. Over 1 million Scots voted to leave the EU vs 1.6 million voting to stay. It's the same argument for each case in reverse. I admit that my take on matters is filtered through a conservative/rightist prism. I also admit that if the EU in Brussels were a strongly right-leaning, ethical, practical, rational, logical, non-power-hungry entity, I wouldn't have a big problem with any sane, humane nation remaining a part of it. But when I see the EU's heavy-handed overreach and it sticking its big, fat nose into non-economic matters - or getting involved in Big Nanny liberalism/leftism - that's a whole different matter .
