BARBOURVILLE, Ky. — A quarantine situation is underway at a small Kentucky hospital.

WLEX and WRIL are reporting that a student from Union College is under quarantine in the Barbourville ARH Emergency Room with an unidentified illness.

A spokesperson with the college emailed the radio station back stating, "In an effort to be as transparent as possible, I did want to update you regarding this morning rumors. This afternoon, Union College was notified by officials at Barbourville ARH that a student is currently in the emergency room under quarantine. An airborne illness has been ruled out by officials."

On an interview with a local news agency, the lead physician who previously worked for the CDC at ARH has confirmed the patient was visited by relatives from west africa who came in contact with the disease. The patient is being transferred to Atlanta by the CDC.

In regard to what may or may not be the cause of the Barbourville ARH ER quarantine involving a Union College student with a hemorraghic fever from earlier today.

We asked Dr. Joshua Kadetzin charge of the case: "Has the virus actually been identified?

Dr. Joshua Kadetz replied:
"No, we are sending blood work with a special hazmat carrier to get tested at the CDC in Atlanta"

Patient is confirmed as an exchange student from an undisclosed west african country. Family was in the country through Lexington Airport over the holidays visiting when it is believed he contracted the illness.

These aren't the only two assassination incidents lately. Open assassination came into fashion around the time of Kashoggi, after that there were lots more that weren't even making headlines, but an significant increase.

Guarantee this has come from an area where they've been testing the ebola vax. It is a live virus vax and can shed... someone was either vaxxed or lived near those who were vaxxed and then came to visit America. Right on schedule, as the ebola vax just got approved after all of those trials in Africa. Where they are now having major ebola outbreaks.

He had not left the country over winter break, but he did have family members visit him from overseas.

Neither the hospital nor the college believe there is any chance for exposure or spreading of the illness.

how in the heck do they know...if kid didn't leave country but had family members from oversea...

And yet it possibly already did spread.

I agree, I hope someone is doing something. I really don't want to think little to nothing is being done about reaching out to those who might have come in contact.

A Union College student athlete was quarantined Tuesday at Barbourville ARH Hospital with symptoms of a hemorrhagic fever.

Reports started early Tuesday alleging a Union College student had been diagnosed with a communicable disease, but initially very little information was available concerning the situation. Contact with Barbourville ARH Hospital and the Knox County Health Department didn’t provide immediate answers, and a statement from Union College initially denied the report. But, in a statement sent later Tuesday afternoon, Union College Senior Director of Communications Maisie Nelson said, “Union College was notified by officials at Barbourville ARH that a student is currently in the emergency room under quarantine.

“Our student is undergoing tests to identify a virus. So far, we know that the student did not contract the Ebola virus, as has been speculated by posts on Facebook, and that it is not airborne. Also, I’ve been told that the student did not travel out of the country during the break.”

Kadetz confirmed following his interview that the virus has not yet been identified, and the hospital would be sending bloodwork by a special hazmat carrier to be tested by the CDC in Atlanta.

So they haven’t identified the virus (only btw not Ebola— of course they do not actually know it’s not Ebola as they haven’t tested yet) but he had relatives visit him three weeks ago from west Africa and it seems to be a hemorrhagic fever of some kind.

Also they are still seeing patients in the emergency room he is currently quarantined inhiding

The only way he could have got it was with ANAL injection.

The host animal carries the disease in it's gonads for quite a while after symptoms have passed.

Good point. The incubation length sounds more lasso fever. Ebola takes u down fast.

Or is this manufactured? Remember when t groups said they could contaminate subways or stadiums and it would take days to weeks before anyone knew.
