OP is LARP replying to his own thread. I have been volunteering with the PDRRMO/NDRRMC (local and national disaster response teams) helping to setup their mobile command centers. Mt. Taal is not even close to the destructive power of Mt. Pinatubo that erupted in 1990. When Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991, it was rated as a VEI-6 eruption. This is over 10x the destructive power of the VEI-5 eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980. He is doing a disservice to the people of Manila, of whom thousands might perish if they don't seek safety. Yes, it could be a supervolcano! He's living in denial because of the potential devastating effects on his country. The top officials in his country already said it could be another mount pinatubo scenario. |
