Well first of all, I would start with picking a trade. Plumbing, Electrician etc.. grab a shovel and tell them you are ready to start digging trenches for them. Get your foot in the door, work hard and you will land a spot, so they will train you.

Before all that, clean and Ironed clothing, no tattoos, clean shaven etc.. I would also, go down to the local Union Hall and apply for an apprenticeship.

I wouldn't say dead, if you can tolerate countless hours of low IQ illegal aliens. I don't wish that on anyone. I know 2 "white" guys, that having a painting/drywall business, they do the work themselves and never hire illegals and are constantly busy. You can generalize anything, but there are always exceptions.

In my area, if you are a "white" guy, you will most likely get laughed off the jobsite, if you come looking for general labor work. Just be smart in what you are looking for, first they will just suspect you are on drugs or some serious loser.

Well the Electricians/ plumbers might need to have verified Apprentice with the State. So there might be some legalities, that you are missing. That depends on each state, but besides that, these things can be worked out.

I say enough talk, somebody who doesn't have a job, would you please go out today and start knocking on doors, construction offices, your local Union hall and tell us what you find. If you go to a job site, ask them where you can apply for a job, don't go asking for work, like some drug addict.

Maybe look for a 1 man Mom and Pop Shop, they can always use help from time to time. Its just about getting your foot in the door. Tell them you can work part time flexible, there is no pressure on them.
