Yep, that's what we do, I have supplies for three plus months, I live in a rural location, with plenty of wildlife to hunt, also only 6km from the sea, so plenty of fishing and foraging.

I can survive an initial disaster, but I'm going to survive as we go on this one, not panicking about it, will assess the situation as it emerges.

Long term prepping is great, if it looks like it's going tits up, I will increase my supplies accordingly, here in the UK our stores and supply chain are holding out, but I am keep a very close watch on any developments.

A hospital have all their 10 ICU beds occupied with patients. 3 of those patients are 90 years old, and are being kept alive by machines. If they are removed from the machines, they die.

Does not matter why their are in the hospital.


A car accident happens, and 3 victims are going to die, if they don't get an ICU bed and machine support, as fast as possible. Transporting them to another hospital will most likely result in them dying before getting there.

As you can see, I do not say what is the age of the car accident victims, because it is irrelevant.


The head of ER, or the doctor in charge, will HAVE TO DECIDE what to do, and ANY decision that they will do will result in 3 dead people.


WE, the SOCIETY, is represented in the above case by the ER head, or whomever is in charge. That person went to school, specialized in a field, and got the position that he is currently in. WE, the SOCIETY, allowed that and made that possible.

That person is WE and his decision is going to be OUR decision, as a SOCIETY.


Same for cops, firemen, or even plumbers, facing an impossible decision : killing someone or not, save that building or that building, or fixing that pipe instead the other.


The person who makes the decision is WE, and represents the SOCIETY regardless if you like it or not.
