P13315 Probably the largest Anti-Mask/Lockdown Protest I’ve seen. Quoting: Guythu Huge crowds have gathered in Dublin city today to protest against lockdown and wearing face masks. [link to lovin.ie (secure)] I think this becomes worse....worldwide. There is a rumor that Trump is addressing the nation from The Oval Office. Imagine if it ain’t what these folks want it to be...... Batten down the hatches! Secure all moorings! I would suggest manning the life boats, but well, I don’t see any. P13315 Guys, I really could use some advice. I've been trying to stock up my mil's house just a little, but she keeps sending the extra's home with all of us. I've got some things here for her, but it really would be easier to store at her house. I haven't talked to her about it much, except to point out that it's been harder to find the things she's asking for. She's 86 and been stuck at home, watching classic movies. She only reads the local newspaper, so she has no idea what's going on. Quoting: Texan Buckeye I tried to talk to my sil when she was here, but she lives in a big city and hasn't seen the shortages we've had here. That girl truly has a golden life. Right now, we're doing everything we can to keep mil at home, but she's been falling every couple of days. Thankfully, she has the best neighbors ever, but we had to go over today again, because she fell and couldn't get up. The neighbors called the squad, which is fine, but how long will they be willing to come out and pick her up? She doesn't want daily help yet. She has a visiting nurse and a pt person a couple of times a week. They're trying to get an extension. I'm so torn. I found my mom last year and she was barely alive. The house was wide open and I figured she had lain there for about 18 hours. My brother put her in a memory care unit, she had dementia, but she passed about 6 months later. I can't do this again. Oh, sweetie..... that is hard on so many levels. I don’t have any experience with elderly family. But you have to listen to your gut. Can she stay with y’all? And if not....if she is a fall risk, but of sound mind, be real about it.... the first responders aren’t going to there every time. You don’t even have to use the virus. Just say bad things happen. No, she won't stay with us. I have no problem with it, but she is a very independent woman. She says she has her fall alert and her phone and that's all she needs. Well, no. Sometimes she's forgotten to recharge her fall alert and she doesn't always take her phone outside. At least, we've got her to stay on the deck and not go down the steps to check her flowers. That fall was about 45 minutes before the neighbors came home in the July heat. We made her go to the ER for that one. How she didn't break something is beyond me. She has to have some pretty powerful guardian angels, at this point. I feel your pain! Except it is my fil. He has mild dementia and macular degeneration and is nearly blind. Recently, he has stopped cooking for himself, cleaning his house and walking. He can’t see to read or get on the computer or anything. Then he started getting dizzy with very low bp, and went through a whole barrage of heart tests. His heart is good, it is all because he forgets to eat. So we have to call and remind him to eat and take meds. He needs to move here, we even have a great setup for him but he doesn’t want to. DH and my bil agree but they won’t push the issue with him. He does come here 3 days a week and when he is here he eats well and takes walks which he loves. It’s like he has an off/on switch and when he is not here he switches off. We sent cooked meals home with him, thankfully he is still able to work the microwave. I told DH they need to have the hard conversation with him that once he is no longer caring for himself, it’s time. The half time there and here was good when he was a little more lucid but now he is wasting away. Every week he comes here a little further incoherent. After a day or two he improves a little. Even packing each week to come here has gotten crazy. He packs 3-4 suitcases to come here a few days. He says he doesn’t want to be a burden but it’s actually harder for us to care for him and a second house than it is to care for him here. Anyway, just know that there are many of us out here. I do not want him to go to a home even before the pandemic, but even more so now. And it would be so much better for him to come here now before his dementia gets worse. |

P13315 I don't know what is out there as regards what is being sold as one disease we call covid19 but that medical facilities are officially referring to as SARS-Cov2. I spoke to a relative who works in a large hospital in another state. She tells me that they have had several cases amongst staff as well as the usual patient population since Aprilish. She is in another dept. She said that a female nurse, af-am about 60 was brought in after she didn't show for schedule last weekend. She said that she went home either that Thurs, or Fri. complaining of a raging headache. After she didn't show on Saturday her daughter (emergency contact number) was called and she was found "unresponsive". An ambulance was called and they worked for 20 minutes I think she said, before transporting her and putting her on a respirator where she is not expected to make a full recovery due to brain damage concerns. How long can you hang around so-called unresponsive? She had to have been there a looooooong time to not call in for work, or even call family to let them know you are sick. Especially if you suspect you are SARS-Cov2 infected. I just don't know what to make of the story. I suspect some type of stroke or heart issue to make her fall to the floor and be down for the count. If you've been unresponsive for hours are you dead? How did they arrive in the nick of time to bring her back to a ventilated existence only? My relative works across the hall in a different dept, had been wearing two masks that she rotated for MONTHS and she didn't get sick. In fact most of the staff haven't gotten this. This has been the most confounding alleged pandemic I've ever read about. |

I am sorry that you allegedly believe in a worldwide conspiracy. It's definitely weird. And rather undpredictable. People don't have static levels of hormones and immune boosters in their systems. We are certain that "comorbidities" or underlying immune system issues play a factor in this, but that itself isn't a constant either, as many people with no underlying conditions have actually died from this. To be honest, we have long term effects that are apparent in roughly 15 percent of people who've had Covid, but not enough time has passed to ascertain if those things are indeed permanent or simply pervasive. Best not to get it at all. I'm dealing with the long haul variety with my husband, and it really sucks the life out of you. Not to mention that it increases worry, which doesn't help anything. Even so, other than the economic destruction, I don't see the pathogen itself as being an ELE event. So I guess I'm nibbling on hopeburgers according to most on this thread. Hugs and prayers! ****Bump for TB to see!!!**** |

P13315 I don't know what is out there as regards what is being sold as one disease we call covid19 but that medical facilities are officially referring to as SARS-Cov2. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78785509 I spoke to a relative who works in a large hospital in another state. It is a weird virus. The virus itself is Sars Cov 2. The disease response is called covid19. You can’t have them without the other. The virus causes many issues. If you have time, read the thread. If not, look up heart and brain issues caused in covid19. I am sorry that you allegedly believe in a worldwide conspiracy. There is no reason to trust the World Heath Organization who would/could as an entity easily conduct a conspiracy that would affect people world wide as a result. If that was the agenda, and I believe that it is. I believe that the many symptoms/health issues that are wide varients from person to person can in large part be explained as people arbitrarily being diagnosed as "covid related" after the fact. |

It also tells me that you haven’t read up on the long haulers or listened to folks on here that have experienced those symptoms. Your lack of investment into research does not constitute a worldwide conspiracy. We don’t go by the WHO either....but you would know that if you read more. Looks like they will be targeting Louisiana, and we will mostly be getting outer bands of rain and wind, with TS level gusts. May make for some serious wave action. There is the additional idea/theory that the same antibodies that attack the pancereas are capable of attacking this virus as well. I can find reports of adults hospitalized with Type-1 and Covid. But haven’t found a reported instance of a child..yet. I’m not narrowing my path. Just interesting. Besides the world is down to llama urine at this point. Oh I agree. Covid is certainly causing many weird things. I’ve seen the reports of Type 1 increasing. Looking for a preexisting Type 1 child being confirmed infected. That would align with what I was told. Basically they aren’t encountering it like they thought they would. |
