A Finnish project to produce a coronavirus vaccine will soon start testing in animals. The researchers are led by Kalle Saksela of the University of Helsinki.

Scientists say their vaccine should be ready by autumn 2021, well behind the leading researchers internationally.

Finnish researchers say they intend to plough on regardless, as production capacity might not be sufficient to ensure Finland gets enough doses of vaccine from the more advanced projects.

Finland’s Ministry of Social Affairs and Health says it is focused on international efforts first, but will follow the Finnish project too, and it may come in handy as knowledge of the virus develops.

I’ve always enjoyed fishing. But today I bought with a mix of reasons. Supplies are already somewhat limited and I figured better safe than sorry.

It’s getting s bit surreal with respects to the stocks available, generally speaking.

Not my first cane....some of the worst parts is them going over with the pressure dropping and then coming back up...glad I am not pregnant...it’s true the old wives tale about women giving birth in hurricanes because of the change in barometric pressure...

Right now, overcast and breezy...a band or two passed over....

Went out for a drive past the ocean last night...part of our family ritual before a storm to scare it away, lol, take that as you will...Beach was busy...we did not stop or get out of car. I did not film it...the linemen are back in town, I saw at least 5 trucks with the bucket lifts...

I will be back later...will post some later as feasible...usually Internet goes first, but I can use phone for internet until that goes down...hopefully this stays at cat 1 and doesn’t slow down...right now looking like it’s heading straight over my house...

I live not far from a main power station, so hopefully we won’t lose power for more than 2 days...

I already have stored frozen water in my freezers to help keep cold...I will bring in patio furniture this afternoon and set up my safe space in case of a tornado...

This is so early for a cane, should be like Labor Day before we get this, the way things used to be....too early to see the trees get stripped of their leaves...

And I agree with my friends...everything now is covid related...and if this thread stuck to just the virus, those ACs would be posting non virus stuff...I recommend not responding to their swilling and just post as normal...

Friends up the coast take advantage of your extra time to get ready...I feel like Isaias is gonna be an asshole, sadly....

Later, guys..got stuff to do..

Man, you can write a spooky note.

But you and me, for the most part, are on the same or similar page.

I'm a bit more on the pessimistic side of the main camp.

If there are two main camps, the "mutation" camp, and the vitamin d camp. I am, for now, in the vitamin d camp. I fear a dark and cold winter.

I'm watching the daily death graph at woldometer like a hawk. How the data has dropped since April into May as the days grew longer and the northern hemisphere's UV radiation increased.

Since June, where we had the longest day of the year (June 21), we, the world, have been carving out a slightly upward trending price channel of higher highs, and higher lows. Now is where I'm watching for a violation of the line to the upside. I'm not sure it makes sense to zero in on just one jurisdiction, like Georgia or Texas. Unless you live there.

I can't predict when or if the death chart breaks out to the upside, this month or next, but like a stock chart, the price action will inevitably make it's move either way.

It may also be a dangerous thing to attempt to predict the outcome of this through the technical analyzing of the chart action itself. If the "mutation" team is correct, in the end, the virus could just mutate itself away to a less virulent version. Like all the others. Like Trump thought it would in April. Like the hopeburger guys, it's fun to take a doom break. Just not while we should be nailing plywood sheets over the windows.

I can write a spooky note too. Not to scare people, or myself, But like you say, to snap them out of denial, "and shorten their path to last stage : Acceptance. On another thread I said that the people on the big Covid thread were in denial. I wrote this other note under another flag to counter the denial of the OP there.

[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

Where I wrote: "infection point", I intended to spell: "inflection point", the area where the data breaks out of it's channel. The bend in the road.

Right now it would seem unlikely that the US elections would actually be cancelled. Right now. But by the time before we get to November, if the daily death charts in cities all across the sunbelt increase exponentially from what has now grown into multiple hot spots, and then migrates up through the eastern and western seaboards, the refrigerated trucks that deliver our produce might then need to be reassigned in the thousands in order to store our cadavers. In a scenario like that, an unprecedented time of emergency, the election will cancel itself. The streets will be empty again.

There would be no debate about locking down the economy, the economy would lock itself down out of fear alone. Mad max would be too scared to go out, even he will stay home.
.
If this also plays out simultaneously in just one other economic zone in the world, say just Europe, or just a part of Asia or even India, the sentiment everywhere else on the planet would bring the global economic supply chain to a stall for some time.

Too much bad news to digest for the day.

I think it was Cyrano de Bergerac who once said on this forum,

"Can we just deal with one doom at a time?

At some point, the answer may be, no.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77670768

the tipping point for economic doom will be when the WHO officially classifies Covid-19 as airborne transmission

science has proven that Covid-19 is airborne

case studies show that it is airborne

all hopeburgers and nothingburgers will forever be inedible overnight

the financial markets will then realize 2023-2024 will be the earliest any business normality will return
 Quoting: Toad Licker

That's a good one.

From the guys who hesitated in labeling the pandemic in order to protect the world bank pandemic bond holders.

Are you kidding me?

They know what's going on.

The unwed mothers of this forum, sitting abound the coffee table, thinking about what they'll make for lunch, know whats going on.

And Trump might know whats going on too.

Him and his election tweet.

Did he let it slip?

Are they telling him it will be bad by then?

This is where it's good to have a president doing tweets.

Even he said that he does tweets that he regrets.

He might have tweeted the cat out of it's inflection point.

Buy vitamin d?

While it's still on the shelves.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78001651

Politically speaking, its time to arc the story line.

The United States is too saturated to expect this virus to fizzle our on it’s own.

The virus has been working its way down the age groups, learning how to crack the systems.

I posted a report earlier about Spain saying they are seeing more severe cases of Covid in younger ages.

I’m a bit surprised we aren’t hearing about more COG meetings - similar to the one that happened in Kansas in late 2019. Seems as if the govt may have tightened up a bit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 46658807

Thanks for that arc the story line deal, I can add that to my repertoire. I don't think Trump would do it on purpose, but he talks too much and therefore does it inadvertently.

And that IS a spooky story about the Spain report. If that sticks, or becomes a theme, your note will be spookier than mine or DR's combined.

And what you're saying about the US being "saturated", I consider that too.

We sat around watching New York burn, wondering why it was happening like that there, and if it would happen like that in our neighborhood, in our jurisdiction.

But man if if does, it will be big.

All those active cases in all those cities across the sunbelt States are charged up like a battery of Covid.

If just even a small percentage of the cases from the active column, move over to the death column, I fear for the folks on the front line of it.

It's cheap at Walmart.

When my store ran out of TP early this year, the vitamin d was gone too.

I recommend buy vitamin d.

But wait until after Labor Day to start taking it.

Unless you're fat, or dark skinned.

Start taking it now.

It's harder for those folks to load up on it.

It stores in the fat cells.

(I'm not making fun of the fat bottom girls, they make the rock'in world go around)

More than two million people shielding against coronavirus in most of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can now leave their home and return to work.

Vulnerable people were advised in March to stay at home, or shield, to avoid contracting Covid-19. In Wales the advice stays in place until 16 August.

How a 31-year-old New Orleans coronavirus survivor died from a rarely-seen condition weeks later

Multisystem inflammatory syndrome, or MIS, is thought to be a delayed overreaction of the immune system that can cause deadly heart inflammation and affect many organs. But doctors are starting to see the syndrome, which mimics Kawasaki’s disease, in adults, too.

"The autopsy was also significant for the presence of new pulmonary thrombi in a background of otherwise reparative changes in the lungs. These thrombi indicate a potential for hypercoagulability affecting the pulmonary vasculature beyond the initial course of COVID-19"

More than two million people shielding against coronavirus in most of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can now leave their home and return to work.

Vulnerable people were advised in March to stay at home, or shield, to avoid contracting Covid-19. In Wales the advice stays in place until 16 August.

Just as cases are back on the increase again. Round two of the culling has begun.

Poland today 657 new cases.Minister of Health of Poland said there won't be new lockdown for whole country
 Quoting: Pillar of Poland

A while ago, maybe a week, I told you that Poland is not going to avoid what is coming.

You asked me what do I think it will happen in Poland, and I said something on the lines of "Ask me again at the end of August, but before that, you will find the answer anyway".

I am a guy that tells it how it sees it, without attached emotions, because the virus doesn't have emotions, and not to scare people, but shorten their path to last stage : Acceptance.

No country on Earth will escape what is coming, and we won't make it unless we lock-down again. The leaders know that, and they are slowly preparing us,

The lock-downs will come again, but not before the virus will ravage the world, because most people are in denial, and a lock-down now, or in August or September will be resisted by most.

But not in October.

The pandemic will be SO BAD in October, everywhere, that most people will not only accept another lock-down, but will ASK FOR IT.

And then it will be point of no return.

I’m in the reality camp, prepped to the gills. That said, I am enjoying pretending to be a hope burger for a while.

On that note, enjoying a thundery, rainiy morning on the covered upper veranda at the beach house. Soaking in and recharging myself on these awesome negative ions.

Negative ions are AWESOME! Enjoy. Get your feet in the sand in a light rain, and it's even better...imo.

I have a couple of questions on two separate things in relation to Covid.
First, I see some disparaging references to HCQ here and would like to know why many are frowning upon it as a prophylaxis and an early treatment? Maybe I missed it around page 7,ooo or something. But from all I can tell, in reality, it is excellent against this. And yes, in conjunction with zinc.

Secondly, I've looked and haven't been able to find anything about it. It's obvious that thrombii are a major concern after and during Covid, whether it be severe or mild. And I can't find any doctors recommending preventative action against that eventuality.

Has anyone seen anything regarding preventative action against the coagulation issues?

Many thanks!
Things are bad enough, there is no need to make anything up.
