Not great news for me today. Colleague, his wife and 2 children all infected with covid19. I have no risk because I bugged out of the office on Jan. 17th. I hope they recover quickly with no long term consequences. Lovely family.

I had suspicions they were ill back in March but when tested were negative.....hmmmm.

I was the first one to leave the office, I took a good share of ridicule and a lot of eyenrolling. My statement to everyone was you don't want to get this virus and even if you don't, you also do not want to be caught up in its consequences.

I have refused in-person social and work engagements for months and will continue to do so despite very little infection where I am. I simply do not trust the situation. I deal in probability and right now the probability of myself or Mr. Sail getting infected needs to stay as close to zero as possible.

My heart is heavy for those I know now who are ill.

The worst part remains not being able to see and hug the grandchildren just as Darth said earlier.

It is a terrible price to pay.

I am grateful for those here on this thread. It keeps me going.

Oh hon, I'm sorry. I hope they'll be ok. It has been hard to do what is right when the rest of the world tells you you're wrong. My husband and I are in a similar boat. We have to look after my mil, so we are in a very small bubble, too.

I had to turn down my brother on the 4th. He had his family and our nephews were invited to a cookout and swim in his pool. The kids are all working, so we just felt that was stretching the bubble too far. I'd LOVE to see them. My youngest greatniece is growing like an adorable weed! I won't be seeing them any time soon, either. My brother and sil are just back from a vaca in Jamaica! He thinks I'm being silly, but I don't care. Chances are too good that if I catch it, I'm dead. Not happening.

I AM very grateful that I had all my kids and grands in one place last Christmas for a week. We met at my daughter's. It was a wonderful time. My kids are spread out, so getting everyone together was a miracle in itself.

It IS the worst part, not being able to go see my kids. Face time is good, but not enough.

CC always tells us to keep swimming, but I, like you, am getting tired and need to tread water for awhile. Hang on hon. The sun WILL shine again! I don't know when or how, but life is a cycle and we will be with our most loved ones some day. hugs

I will say that Havarti cheese is one of my greatest discoveries. It melts into a buttery cheese goodness that no other cheese can do.

I like that too, but seriously, Dutch cheese is heaven on earth! If you find a family type dairy that makes cheese here, make friends with them so they'll sell you some of their cheese. I'm serious, it will be SO good. Way better than ANY store cheese.

Piedmont Box Wine, is that you? If not, disregard the inside joke and tell us your favorite cheese. :)

Good cheese is made with good milk. Good milk is made from cows that eat good grass. I live in the Alps, the grass is excellent, I buy the cheese in the small local dairies.
If you find it in your county, try toma, fontina, reblochon or le bleu de maurienne.
There are good cheeses even if not made with mountain milk, such as mozzarella or gorgonzola.
Dutch cheese can't hold a candle tounge

Youse guys are killing me with the talk about cheese!

I love all kinds of cheese from all over the world. Unfortunately, I did not purchase and freeze much.

I have a miniature Jersey in milk and I saved the stomachs of some of the calves I slaughtered for rennet, so we can make our own cheese. Right now Enana (Spanish for dwarf/feminine) is giving her milk to a tiny calf, so I have to wait.

The Queen is from the Old Country and knows how to make cheese.

Tonight we had a feast, steaks from Wooly Bully who went to Cow Heaven on Sunday, beans, rice, and rice tortillas (a first for me).

Hooked up my fertilizer spreader and spent a few hours on my tractor today. Getting it out before the hurricane sends rain our way.

If Laura heads a bit West, we will have to get ready in a hurry. I have three generators, but have not fired any up since Hurricane Harvey three years ago.

The goal of my prepping is to be a food producer for many. The reality is that growing food is difficult and requires years of experience and hard work.

A person sitting under an airconditioner infected 27 others with coronavirus at a Starbucks cafe in South Korea, but none of employees, who were wearing masks, got the virus.

After a woman with the coronavirus visited a Starbucks cafe north of Seoul this month, more than two dozen patrons tested positive days later. But the four face mask-wearing employees escaped infection.

The Aug. 8 outbreak in the South Korean city of Paju is another example of how rapidly the SARS-CoV-2 virus can spread in confined, indoor spaces.

The 27-person cluster linked to the air-conditioned coffee outlet adds more support for their mandatory use to help limit the spread of the Covid-19-causing virus.

You're right, but I was talking about higher quality. In mountain pastures there are many aromatic plants that improve the taste of milk. For this reason some cheeses (DOP) are produced only in summer and the quantity is obviously limited

that is R1’s acid..... and we actually all missed the beginning back in April. Going to see if a study was published.

It sounds like they hope it breaks down the lipid layer.... like soap, peroxide, bleach, salt, etc.

This article admits......”The mosquito spray is not enough protection on its own and is being used as an added layer”......which is the same article tweaked and byline by the same person as the other one I posted. Super duper ooooper face palm.

I like that too, but seriously, Dutch cheese is heaven on earth! If you find a family type dairy that makes cheese here, make friends with them so they'll sell you some of their cheese. I'm serious, it will be SO good. Way better than ANY store cheese.

If Dutch cheese is heaven on earth, I think you've never tried Italia or French cheese
