First round of covid tests tomoro after son restarting daycare, he came home unwell a cold we hope runny nose etc. which isn't officially a symptom but seems it can be in baby's so taking no risks guess we will find out soon enough

18 months he has been teething on and off for months but this seems more of a cold, been trying to convince myself this is nothing for a while already had him on a ventilator when he was born so hoping we don't end up back there again but probably gona be the first of many tests he seems to catch every cold and flu going are we decided on how reliable these tests are yet?

If it comes back negative.... watch him like a hawk.

Have been up to this week but i've been called back to work and can't afford not to be there unfortunatly my wife is the same so having to leave him into daycare and I work in a factory full of fellas who think it's just a flu and are taking little precaution, feel like we are screwed in all honesty

You will need a p or n 100 mask, or better, to wear. I have googled the worst smelling liquid available for sale and selected “Skunk’um” for this plan -sounds good to me. Buy it and wear it proudly along with your good mask.

We all know the covid tests suck and are guaranteed to be less accurate than Skunk’um for spotting infecteds in public, where they mostly congregate, because their common denominator seems to be they can’t smell shit.

The idea is to wear your mask and “Skunk’um” perfume in public.
The uninfectids will all run away then you keep away from those who haven’t run - the infecteds.

Keep your cool as though you have no idea you smell like a skunk.

Morning - So we had new record cases yest at 1225 and 470 within Kathmandu. We also saw riots where a large group want to drag this large religious cart built yearly through the streets to the Bungmati river that should have been performed by now but not so they took it upon themselves in lock down and riots ensued.
Tear gas and water cannons and some cops got a beating caught by mob etc - now we have curfew lol, no outside 4am-10pm and army has permission to shoot.......

Nuts - all nuts still, International flights are back since covid has gone, Lord knows who is on them as no one can travel as such, only Nepalis returning and diplomats apparently?

Still, life goes on, plenty of food about and we live among growers everywhere so no shortage of fresh veg and rice etc so even for the very long haul we are ok... tc all - stay safe

This is the one thing ..... there are soooooo many ways to find a work from home job. As a parent, if I knew that I could be called back to the office, I would spent my waking moments finding another way.

Yes, I know....not everyone can work from home, but if a family has two parents and time.....someone could learn some new skills like zen desk on the overnight shift. Just even an email answer job. They exist. Folks just need to be more open to switching gears.

Yeah we are trying to find something new for my wife even so we could take daycare out of the equation but up to now have had no luck, had bugged out to our caravan out of the city until last week and none of us have been sick since March not sure if its a good thing for the wee man not to be exposed to the every day germs, common colds etc at his age either tho

What CC said. There are too many false positives and negatives. Watch him hard, especially with his early trouble. Make sure his doc knows all about little one's past history. Now that we have you all worried, try really hard to NOT be, as much as possible. Baby will notice and it could be for nothing. All you can do is trust your doc and watch and LOVE!

My little man had the opposite issue. Weekly fevers. After trying daycare for two years .... his pediatrician said enough. Too much stress on both of us.

And still he had weekly fevers until March 2020. Now, since being home.... maybe about five or so fevers. And I have only been thrown up on twice.

Every kid is different. Just do the best that y’all can do. Decisions are in the hard knocks category at the moment.
