Some of that stuff still has a year or so. And others like the bandages.... well, I am thankful for my need for being organized and a neat freak.

Well. At least I know why my dreams had so few people. And I wasn’t planning on living here, 20 years ago.

Busy on a call, if I remember correctly. I never hear that one used. Within the past five years or so there has been a move within police departments to stop using codes for simple subjects that don't really need a code and just use plain language. For instance, they used to broadcast "10-50 PD" for a property damage accident or "10-10" for a fight in progress. Now they just say "PD accident" or "fight in progress."

Some things they wouldn't want someone overhearing, like a response from dispatch that a person or item is wanted (10-99) or a person is emotionally/mentally disturbed (10-96) are still transmitted as codes. But some of the common, everyday stuff is no longer coded at all.

The weird thing is they don't use 10-7 for out of service, but they use 10-8 for "back in service" all the time.

And some others they can't make up their minds, such as 10-22 for "disregard your current run," I hear dispatchers say it both ways.

I don't think that's a viable option for the nicer restaurants. No one is going to pay a high price for what was a great steak that sat out at room temperature for 20 to 30 mins until it arrives at your door lukewarm.

Probably off topic, but could this be part of the reason for the push reported by Raisin 1 ?
