Is there a relationship between HHV-6 and Covid?

The vast majority of you have HHV-6. Chicken pox, shingles, cold sores are versions of the herpes virus.

More people have latent HHV-6 than have had chicken pox. Think about this.

This reactivation has been associated with many clinical manifestations that can be seen in the “Associated Conditions” section of this site. Reactivation can occur in the brain, lungs, heart, kidney and gastrointestinal tract, especially in patients with immune deficiencies and transplant patients. In some cases, HHV-6 reactivation in the brain tissue can cause cognitive dysfunction, permanent disability and death. Except in acute or initial infections, the viral DNA can typically be found only by biopsy, as it does not circulate in peripheral blood.

A growing number of studies also suggest that HHV-6 may play a role in a subset of patients with chronic conditions. HHV-6A has recently been found in the uterus of women with infertility, in the thyroid tissue of patients with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and has been suggested as a trigger for a subset of MS and chronic fatigue syndrome cases. High levels of HHV-6B DNA in the brain biopsies of refractory epilepsy patients suggest the virus may play a role in a subset of those with this condition. HHV-6 has also been tied to febrile seizures and status epilepticus. There is an urgent need for new technologies to detect these occult infections that are not apparent by standard quantitative PCR DNA testing methods, in order to prove or disprove the important disease associations that have been suggested.

Here in New England we have gone a month longer than Spain without a second wave.

Everyone here is more or less going about things as they did before, people aren't going out like they used to and are still being careful but things have for the most part gone back to normal.

I think we are way past the point of people being told they can't have contact with friends of family by the government or their employer.

Sure, when this started that was justified... we didn't know what we were dealing with. But we're 6 months into this now.

Are they still going to be using police helicopters to bust up backyard barbecues a year from now? Fuck that shit.

I haven't heard of anyone who has come down with the virus since June, either from family or friends or clients.

Micromanaging people's lives with police state powers isn't going to get rid of COVID, that's been 100% proven now.

Governments need to get back to what they originally sold us, this "mission creep" has gotten out of control. If the outbreak in an area appears to be on a trajectory that will overwhem hospitals then obviously government action is neccesary, but other than that we really need to start pushing back or there will be freedoms lost long after COVID is relegated to the history books.

We have a pretty good idea of what a second wave looks like in a previously hard-hit region, Spain is on the downward slope now and currently their death rate is 95% lower than their original outbreak.

I wouldn't say all over. We know now from Spain that a previously hard hit area can have a second wave.

We also know that the death toll will be MUCH lower.

But the schools opening are going to expose a lot of people to the virus who were previously shielded from it.

Nobody knows what things are going to look like 3 months from now. There are too many variables... winter weather, vaccines, giant bats. We're just gonna have to wait and see.

To be fair, China has been studying this virus for years in an attempt to develop new vaccines. Not that I'm just going to take their word for it, mind you, but if anyone has the best chance of developing a vaccine first, it's China.

I looked it up and, imo, you have very smart management and I’m sure everyone along the line of assembling and taking possession of such products will be very glad to know someone has been watching out for their health to the inth degree.
