6 or 7 years ago there was a bad snowstorm in New England, Massachusetts enacted a stay-at-home order... nobody allowed to leave their house for any reason for days under threat of fines or jail.

At the time, everyone was like "Well this is just a one-time thing, it's not a big deal this was a once per decade storm they won't do it again."

It's happened twice since, and every time a big storm comes in reporters question the Governor about if there's going to be a shelter-in-place issued, which puts him on the spot as being responsible for anything bad that happens if he doesn't. One of the times the snowstorm was only 12", which up here is practically considered a dusting.

Quarantines, mask mandates, government permission to travel... these aren't going away. It's a power that the government has now, and will use.

Even if COVID goes away in the next year, you're gonna see this happening for the flu now when there's a bad year.

I'm glad most everyone is on right now. I have to apologize for my rant/freak out the other day. I'm SO embarassed, I shouldn't have posted most of it or at least, deleted it. It was so long ago, I didn't know I would react that way.

Our family is going through things right now with mil and I guess I was a loose cannon the other day. Anyway, if I'm not seen for awhile, it's because of family issues. It'll be what it is, just dealing with adult kids that never grew up.

Sweetie, thank you! It didn't start out as a rant. What I wanted to get across was to stress that unknown vaccines in this country isn't new. It went sideways from there.

The adult kids are my husbands siblings. My sweet mother-in-law is starting down the end of life road. Temporary plans are in place. She was in the hospital for a week and just came home the other day. Permanent plans to keep her home are pending. Waiting for insurance co. She'll be home for as long as possible. No way will we follow her old plans of going to a home. Thankfully, some of us worked in homes in past lives. I keep teasing my bil that he was direct care, I was dietary! Ask me to cook for several hundred people. That I can do. The correct way to lift, nope!

You're right about the childhood, though, Dutchy. They had an awesome one. There were troubles, but they were young and don't remember all of it.

it was my opinion, but the evidence pointed to them. by now the rumors are even louder.

as humans,we have an obligation to mankind and to each other. as u see ,ppl think pf themself and not others. so yes some has to b done for us to surive this mess. but getting our freedoms,rights,and control back won't b easy.

this DOOM is not what any of us expected. the slow burn. many of us face DOOM in our own lives. socially cut off,$$, removed from family,exiled,relapses,working on the front lines,etc. we all feel your pain. we have all faced our own parts of the DOOM.separation anxiety,fear for children, depressions over $$ or the sickness, etc.

surprisingly i haven't heard TRUMP use the pionts he has yet. the fact that the elites in DC sold out our factories which led to our shortages. this global ideal has helped spread the virus faster. and together that led to the economy falling.
