I have about 200 gallons of water treated with chlorine in my barn. Some in 5 gallon water jugs, some in cleaned out wine bottles.

Have three generators plus fuel for my 400' deep well if required.

Also have a pond with about 10 acre feet of water, although that would take some filtering and treatment to be safe.

If all else fails, the water table here is HIGH, so I could actually dig a well with my backhoe in a couple of hours. Would have to filter and treat, of course.

One of the advantages of living in a wet climate; don't have to worry much about water supply.

Ref solar pumps, THANK YOU to my colleagues on the thread. I am going to purchase a solar pump to move water from the big pond to a small pond by my gardens. Running electricity over 1000 feet to power a pump was going to cost over $1000.

Ref the spread of Wuhan Virus outside of China, a friend contracted the virus on a bus tour of New England back in January. He said there were a number of constantly coughing Chinese tourists on board. He became extremely ill.

Makes me wonder if the Chicom leaders purposely sent infected people around the world to share the disaster.

I am a layman, but it appears to me that people with different genetics can be practically immune, mildly ill, all the way to dying...at any age.

YES, mainly the elderly and those with comorbidities are dying, but we see stories of children and young people succumbing.

BTW, my friend who got it in Jan. already had survived several bouts of cancer and a life-threatening intestinal infection (do NOT trust the sterilization of colonoscopy instruments!). So, comorbidities.

It is clear that we need a LOT more research to understand the beast which may lead to better treatments or prevention.

New baby and mother are happy and healthy... I'm all set helping them out but now trying to clear a backlog of work after being sidelined for a week.

I'm just hoping nobody caught COVID while in the hospital.

If every nuclear power took their annual budgets for creation, testing, and maintenance of nuclear weapons and spent that money collectively on space exploration as well as deep ocean exploration, we could expand our living space (and agriculture space) to the ocean floor, to other planets, and eventually to other star systems. We have the technology RIGHT NOW to build nano probes that could reach .2c and travel to the nearest star system in roughly 20 - 25 years.

We have the technology RIGHT NOW to colonize both the moon and Mars. We have the technology RIGHT NOW to attach a probes to comets and asteroids and let them explore space with minimal fuel consumption. We have terraforming technology and mining technology that could be put to use on planets in our own solar system.

But it will never happen with our current competing religious and economic ideologies.
