Senti, I find your posts to be refreshingly rational.

I HOPE I am wrong along with most of my colleagues on this thread. My initial fears and forecasts have NOT come out the way I predicted. We have a much lower infected rate and much lower mortality rate.

However, like many here, I counsel prudence with regard to this bio threat. Few listen, at least in my family and personal life.

IMHO, we could cut the rate of spread, but the drive to keep the economy open and people's desire to live normally will defeat those efforts.

However, I DO think it is possible for individuals, whether high risk or not, to organize their lives to avoid infection.

Many of us can work from home and have all essentials delivered or use parking lot pickup. With appropriate decontamination, we can probably survive just fine staying at home.

I never went to movies, sporting events, concerts, etc. anyway.

I am blessed to be in self-quarantine with a beautiful woman who loves me.

I only have moments to drop in during the day. Right now, I need to go tend to my chickens.

Morning update.
Got a call from doctor today to see how we are feeling. Seemed genuinely concerned for our progress.
I feel worse today. Shoulders and neck are flu-like achiness. Nasal drainage has become thick now instead of just a trickle of water. Still the dry cough though. And I have the tingly sensation again in my nose and upper lip that you feel when a sickness first coming on. Scratchy throat.
20y/o dd is awake. She says her throat feels like it’s in shreds. Neck and armpit glands are less swollen. She thinks she is getting an ear infection. Said her “Eustachian tube feels like it’s swollen all the way down.” Exhausted, fatigued. Just wants to sleep. Still can’t taste or smell. Couldn’t smell roasted garlic.
I tried a test. I sneeze every single time I open black pepper, even before I sprinkle it. Today I didn’t sneeze. Didn’t even sneeze when I sprinkled it. So I straight up sniffed the bottle...nothing. Had daughter try it...nothing. I can still smell it, but she can’t. Neither of us had a fever.
17y/o ds finally woke up yesterday. Feels the same, no better or worse. Loss of balance I noticed. He was standing in front of me talking and then turned to sit on the couch and almost toppled over. He hasn’t got up from sleep yet today, but when he does I will try the pepper.
I will separate out a second starter colony of roaches. Been planning to do that for dd to have her own colony anyway. If the theory holds true they should’ve already been contaminated since I feed the dragons every other day, but I’ll start recording if I notice any die offs or if I notice any changes in dragon behaviors. I will do the same for the crickets and super worms as well, but I guess I won’t be able to tell if the dragons have caught symptoms from which feeder bug.

That is merely one possibility among several, and it is based on the ~90 day disappearance of natural antibodies, meaning people can be infected over and over again. That also means the odds of an effective vaccine are almost zero unless you're willing to take a booster shot every 90 days. It also means herd immunity is out the window.

CC is a worst-case scenario prepper. I sometimes disagree with her assessments, but I cannot fault her for assuming the worst, wanting to be ready for the worst, and wanting others to be ready for the worst as well. That means she does care about the well being of other people, an attitude this country is currently lacking in general.

Personally, I do not have the energy or the goodwill to invest in trying to convince others of the danger. I'm tired of being ignored or mocked and so I just focus on my own preparations. I have people that follow my updates on social media, but unless one of them asks me a direct question about what they need to do to prepare, I let them do what they want with the information I post.

A lot of us have been a part of this thread from the beginning, back when we were actually getting some good information, before all the political disinformation and misdirection kicked in. Some of us have less patience than others for people that come in late to the party and state something that we knew months ago to be patently false, "It's just the flu" being one of the most annoying example out there, in my opinion.

Technology has made it possible for many to work from home. That is a blessing. While my husband has to still feed the masses, I run a small farm. It was a hobby, now it is a fallback to feed our family if he ever has to shutdown. I enjoy your posts, as I can relate to the amount of work farming involves and it never ends!

All that we were prescribed is albuterol inhalers as needed. DD was also prescribed bonzonatate in february. The bottle is still full. As I recall it made her feel like her heart was racing and she opted for some otc robitussin, mucinex, nyquil or somesuch.

My daily supplements (same as Ive been taking for 10 years, but additional amounts are added if Ive in proximity to someone who is sick - or now that i am).

4000 mg vit c (10000mg/day until colon flush -gross sorry)
5000 IU vit d3 (25000 IU day right now)
50 mg zinc (cant take more than this as it makes me sick)
200 mcg k2 (should be equal to d3, but i eat tons of kale)

400 IU vitamin e complete (contains tocopherols)
