I’ve got non what so ever but my eldest child has got some. Fever and cough. ( I am yet to see any actual symptoms, she could be playing us to keep off school).
Anyways I have to self isolate for ten days or until she gets a negative test result.
Work has told me they will still pay me If I show them proof of the situation.
It is rife round here it’s everywhere atm. Schools are constantly reporting out breaks.
I will keep everyone updated on here.

Of course, we are going to see isolated incidents as such, but never forget that we are much better prepared now.

We need to remain cautiously optimistic though, although cases are on the rise in some country, we seem to be attaining a "plateau" in most others. Don't forget that the death rate and seriousness of the virus is far less less potent than in March-May. It looks as though the virus is loosing its punch as it circles the globe and goes from one host to the next, all reasons to remain optimistically cautious, without of course letting our guard dow. We're not out of the woods yet, but there is definite light at the end of the tunnel. We must never give up hope, together we will fight off and come out on top.

You never know with children, we played the sick card to get off school ourselves as youngsters.

Best take the recomended course of action just incase. I believe locally there are self test centres for such situations, maybe worth calling 111 get a test booked for you and the kids?

If you look at this situation through the eyes and minds of a child, there is a reason that they might not want to go to school.

Using our local schools as an example, it is an 8 hour session of even more rules, 8 hours of a mask and/or a face shield, no recess, no sports, lunch delivered to each desk, etc.

It would be hard enough for an adult, much less a 10 year old. I feel very sorry for them.

Although reported cases are up in some countries, the death rate and the hospitalization rate is way down compared to Early Spring.

We need to stay positive, no need to constantly post doom links only, this thread is NOT a death cult, or is it?

Agree totally, school was never good on the best of days, I can't imagine the hassle they get with the covid precaution.

Putting the physical health issues aside for a moment, I dread seeing the psychological damage being done to the children come to light if this ever ends.

You don't need to be a professional to see that it IS happening. Observe your children closely, home schooled or public. Sad.

I have my own views on the virus, which jive with very few on this particular thread.

Denying what is happening to the mental health of our young people is dangerous.

You know, maybe someone somewhere shared something she wrote and maybe someone somewhere stopped something

We are all fine atm, I’ve been informed off work I will revive full pay.
My kids are sick of the whole situation aswell as my partner, I never bring my GLP life into my real life (not anymore ) I did inform
Them in January What was to come and thing are going to get fucked up, they said I was going crazy as not a peep on the news or anything. Then boom. Welcome to the Covid world.
My kids are loving the time off school. And say they loved lockdown and family time but missed going out on day trips ect.
