I liked the cheetos mac and cheese, once my eyes adjusted to the neon orange. It's about the same as Kraft, I think..a bit cheesier and the cheetos on top was good...I made the pasta without any salt in the water because I am trying to limit that..

Ironic/coincidence y'all mentioned Arby's--I made a sandwich of store packaged roast beef (meh) but I emptied some of my Arby's sauce packets and heated it up...made it palatable.

This is probably the hardest thing I've had to write. CC and CG pm'd me to see if I was all right. I told CC I would post it here because I only want to tell this once. Some of it is hard to hear, but believe me, it's harder to relive.

First off, I want to apologize again to SN. You didn't deserve my going off on you.

This all started with all of the Hunter Biden stuff. As hard as I tried to avoid any visual posts, it didn't work. I thought I could handle it at first. By the time I barked (I'm trying to keep it clean) at SN, I knew I couldn't. It brought back too many memories. You see, I was physically and sexually abused from around 4 years old until I was in high school by a member of family that I still have to deal with. That's as far as I'm going to go with this part of the story.

I tried to find threads that looked "safe" but someone would post one of the photos, or several at the same time. So much seemed to happening at the same time. I couldn't process much. I'm not sure, but after doing some reading, I think I had a really bad panic attack. I had to get offline right away.

The rest of the story is about my mil. She's been in the hospital now for some time. She was supposed to go to rehab today, but she isn't just going down hill anymore, she's fallen off a cliff. She'll be in hospice care tomorrow. She's in kidney failure and has congestive heart. Her kidneys are at 20% now. We haven't been able to go see her at the hospital, but unless things change again, we will be able to see her tomorrow. We're counting days and maybe hours now.

I wish y'all could have known her. She's a very special lady and the world will be dimmer without her.

So, to end this wall of text, CG, no, I'm not ok, but I will be. Thanks for being a friend when I so desparately needed one.

I will be around and I'll try to pop in when I can, if for no other reason than to say hi. When things settle or they get really bad, I'll be back. I'm hoping for things settling, but I know better. And, believe or not, I really DO care about all of you. Very, very much.

Although the headline sounds scary; in proper context it's higher then it should be, but no extreme. If you look at Figure 2 or Table 3 it compares the rates of mental illnesses subsequent other infections. Influenza has a incidence rate of roughly 13.3% to be followed by a newly diagnosed mental illness in the 14 to 90 days post infection window.
