A new University of Miami study has found that COVID-19 could have an impact on male fertility. Researchers autopsied six men who died of the virus and found some of them had impaired sperm function and that the virus had invaded testis tissue.

Researchers believe it makes sense that COVID-19 would target the testes. They feel the virus has an affinity for angiotensin-converting enzymes receptors, which are in many of the body's organs, like the kidneys, lungs, heart and testes.

Emanuel, the lead author on a paper in Science called “An ethical framework for global vaccine allocation,” argued that there should be a “fair international distribution of vaccine,” rather than what he and his co-authors call “vaccine nationalism.”

He and his co-authors reject a proposal by the World Health Organization (WHO) to distribute vaccines proportionally, with “with 3% of each country’s population receiving vaccines” and allocation up to 20% of the population in every country.

They also reject a proposal to prevent the highest number of deaths by giving vaccines to countries based on “the number of frontline health care workers, the proportion of population over 65, and the number of people with comorbidities.”

The problem with that approach, Emanuel argues, is that death is not the only form of harm, and prioritizing older people would mean sending a disproportionate share of vaccines to rich countries, where average life expectancies are longer.

Agree or not with his reasoning, Biden specifially campaigned hard to senior citizens saying he would save them from COVID... all fucking lies. I was in a bar by myself in Amsterdam in the mid-80's enjoying (I still do) some delightful Dutch gin. I believe, excuse my spelling, 'tis Jonge Genever that I savor.

Soccer game on the television. I'm not a soccer aficionado. Game ends, everyone but me in the bar goes crazy with happiness.

I ask the gent next to me what's up. "We won! We won!"

"Great!", I reply. "Was this some sort of tournament?", I ask.

I remark that everyone seems really, really excited.
