We need more data on both but everyday the worst case scenario's are more and more likely.

Low pre-existing conditions prior infection. It's inherent in these studies that when you look for participants that those that have continued problems are more likely to enroll in hopes of resolving them. Even with good intend those that are problem free are less likely to show up to get blood work done and endure a 35 minute session in a MRI.

Secondly all those enrolled had at least a clinical diagnosis for COVID, which implied they sought out medical care for the infection putting them in the 10-20% worst effected range. Parsing out these effects in studies is very hard because people in general don't seek out help when they feel they have no problems. Can't study people you don't see.
