testing was expanded when cases increased.i doubt ppl were getting tested without having some symptons to start the spiral.

by the time the testing starts,the 1 infected has spread it to others and they too spread to more. 3 steps and 3 weeks out.

the question the county health depts put out is "have u been "here" on such and such date?" that date is right a round 3 weeks back. each time the county opens a local test site. then they find many more cases. has happened to several counties here.

contact tracing is way behind the 8 ball.remember thou, this was an "oops" by the CDC. umm 3 mths into this back in the spring, the CDC says "well,maybe we should tell everyone in the home to quarantine not just the infected person." how smart was that? leads me to think it is by design that the county helath depts are behind on contact tracing.

my couny is at orange level. we were,i haven't checked lately,at 5% positive rate. that with increased testing and that put us high enuf to hit the alert level. the county to my west was yellow.now it is the county to my east. total current active case counts hold bout 1200 for the surrounding counties.

I know from family in wales a hell of a lot of people in the area wont go for a test incase they get put in 14 day isolation.

This combined with the "Last time I had the sniffles I got a test and was negative, No need to fuss over it this time!" Are going to make for a interesting few months.

I have a horrible cold thats just now starting to wane..could be covid.

Its in my chest so bad im hacking up literal chunks of snot every hour.

No fever or shortness of breathe...im assuming its just a cold and not covid.

Not gonna get tested..my 2 year old already got it and got over it.

General reminder to you. Covid is very variable in how it presents. For some it's a minor nuisance for others it's a death sentence.

If you're assuming you just have a cold, stay at home for 14 days with your household to avoid accidently killing people.

But but the virus did that. Not me!

2 weeks ago the child comes home from school full of a cold.
4 days later, yep rest of the house.

Brings it home that what ever we do the schools are a weak point.

She has no idea where she got it from, as shes doing her best to limit her exposure.

I told y'all the docs aren't going into the rooms and making nurses do it. She needs to turn every single one of them in because if they are charging insurance or medicare/medicaid for visits and not seeing the pts it's fraud. She can get 10% of the fine imposed on the docs as a whistle blower.

I will say this about the CPR rounds....these rounds are exhausting and a lot of resources are used. If pts have no chance of surviving then this is pretty much SOP even without covid being an issue. Maybe I'm just a crusty old ER nurse, but that doesn't bother me much. Now, the nurse just letting a pt die without intervening before the code happens, um, nope. I'd turn her ass in quickly.

To clear up any confusion, when a pt has a non-terminal issue we code them for up to an hour. We DO NOT cease codes until we've exhausted ACLS protocols and ask everyone in the room for any other ideas. Have I seen codes called too soon? Yes, and I have voiced my displeasure with it, but it's ultimately the physicians call to make.
