Pretty sure it doesn’t exactly work like that. We have deterrent capabilities. The hack of NNSA seems (to my read) relatively sloppy/ham-handed. To be sure, we don’t want those guys impacted by a hack, but I don’t think THIS hack impacted anything to do our ability to conduct a nuclear response, except perhaps in minor, tangential ways.

They only hacked unclassified systems. Still not good, but a very important distinction. I'll find a link.

Yep. And even if the got into some of the more critical systems, it’s not exactly the same as having the keys to the kingdom. Larger impact is on the people who now have to deal with this INSTEAD of managing the stockpile, etc.
